Summary: home For The Holidays
Review: This is not one of Johanna Lindsey's best it is the worst. The book had no real story line, if you read the exerpt on-line congradulations you've read the book. I own every one of her books and while reading this one I kept looking at the front cover to make sure it said Johanna Lindsey. After reading this book I read The Heir it was priemium Johanna Lindsey.

Summary: Very Good But Too Short
Review: This is the first book I have read from Johanna Lindsey but it won't be the last I'm sure. I truly enjoyed it from cover to cover. Historical Christmas novels are one of my favorite reads and this fit the bill completely. I bought it as my Christmas treat to myself and planned to tuck it away to read closer to the holiday. However, I lost my willpower and picked it up and couldn't put it down. That's my only complaint! I finished it in two nights with weeks to go till Christmas! I guess I'll just have to read it again! Johanna, perhaps next year you could do a book with several historical Christmas stories in it P.S.-the cover is beautiful.

Summary: a bitter-sweet romance=>very nice
Review: this is the first Johanna Lindsey book i'v ever read. i liked the story a lot and thought that the concept was very special. a very nice romance novel. it was bitter, yet sweet but most of all it really was a nice story.i mean it's alwayz the kool guy uses a good way to get a gurl. but this one was different. and in the end it turns out ok. though this book had quite a few difficult words, i liked the story a lot. i had my nose stuck in it. after reading this book, i had a very strong will to read more of Ms.lindsey's novels.
i read a few of the reviews for this book and it seems that most readers don't enjoy the book as much as i did. but i would still recommend this book to readers and especially people who would read ms.lindsey's book for the first time to get warmed up in her magic world. other readers say that her other boox are much better then this one, so i'll b looking forward to reading them

Summary: Sweet Holiday Love Story
Review: This was a sweet book. I enjoyed the characters -- it reminded me of Dicken's Christmas Carol, at first, with a sickly brother and a heartless landlord -- but he really did have a heart, after all. I love Johanna Lindsey's books. This is yet another great one. I hope she writes a story for every Christmas to come. :)

Summary: Disappointing Lindsey
Review: This was the worst Johanna Lindsey book yet. The plot was very superficial and I never could make myself care about the characters. It was extremely short and not very well written. I have read all of her other books and have really liked most of them. This one read like it was written in one day. What a disappointment.

Summary: I quick enjoyable story
Review: Though it isn't Johanna Lindsey's usual type story, I really enjoyed it. It was easy reading and I finished it quickly and felt good reading it from start to finish. Sure, its not as detailed ad explicit as some her other books, its an enjoyabe read. It reminds me a lot of most of the other Regency stories I've read. It certainly, in my opinion, doesn't deserve only one star, it certainly isn't a five tar winner either.

Summary: Johanna needs a vacation
Review: To be honest, I wouldn't even check this book out from the library. The general plot was a good idea, but it just plain didn't come together. It had one or two good pages, and then 300+ pages of filler, including three pages to note the beginning of each new chapter. I'm sorry Johanna, but you need to take some time and think before you bust out the next one. Your past history proves you can do it, but your recent novels suggest that you may be running out of ideas.

Summary: A Christmas story of sharing and hope
Review: Vincent wants revenge. Larissa wants a home. While her father is overseas on business, Larissa is hounded by creditors who think her father is leaving England for good. Even her new landlord Vincent Everett has kicked her and her younger brother out of their home. But upon meeting Larissa, Vincent has second thoughts. His vengeance is for her father for destroying his brother. Vincent graciously allows Larissa and her brother stay with him until her father has returned. Then he decides to complete his revenge by seducing her. Larissa, vulnerable and terrified that her father's ship is lost, falls under Vincent's spells, but something doesn't go right. Vincent is not supposed to fall in love her and fights his emotions from coming to the surface when she lays in his arms. Now he is the one seduced.

This story is not as steamy as some of Lindsey's other books, but it is a charming tale nonetheless. The warmth and caring of Christmas creep into this tale as Vincent begins to fall in love with Larissa. A story to curl up to a fire with.

Summary: ZZZZZZZZZ
Review: Well, at least it wasn't a waste of *much* time. As others have
said this book is a great let down for most Lindsey fans. It's been years since I've been willing to buy one of her books in hardcover, and I'm usually glad I waited. (come to think of it-since they've been available in hard cover they haven't been that good!) It wasn't awful, but it wasn't much good either. If you're like me and can't stand to miss a book, set aside a couple of hours to read it in the library. I sure hope Ms. Lindsey returns to writing wonderful novels like she used to.
