Summary: Steamy, engrossing, though sometimes overly "wordy"
Review: A perfect story of an intelligent woman who proves that love is the balm for all wounds. While there are points at which you just want to scream, "PLEASE, JUST ADMIT YOUR FEELINGS NOW!" it has a steady stream of adventures and interesting twists that will keep you reading...

Summary: Great Romance!!
Review: Dangerous Passions is the story of Adrian Kingsland (Innocence Undone)and Elissa Tauber. Elissa is caught up in a web of intrigue, espionage, and deceit as she poses as the Contess von Langen to weed out the identity of The Falcon, the coward responsible for murdering her brother Karl and carrying military secrets to the French.

Elissa's deception brings her into contact with Colonel Adrian Kingsland, Lord Wolvermont. She first encounters him when he climbs through her bedroom window, mistaking her for someone else. From this point on, Adrian is consumed with possessing the elusive "countess." As Elissa soon discovers, Adrian becomes more lethal to her senses than the charade she has chosen to carry out.

Danger Passions is a well-paced novel, full of twists and turns. Adrian and Elissa share some passionate love scenes, as well as some wild adventures. This is another good book to curl up with on a rainy day or a lazy sunny day at the beach.

Summary: Fantastic book! Couldn't put it down.
Review: Here at last is an historical novel that really uses the history, making it interesting while never letting up on the sexual tension that makes a good love story. I have read all of Kat Martin's books and this is my favorite. She always delivers a compelling plot with plenty of romance.

Summary: A good romance
Review: I originally started this book, then set it aside. I just got back to it and finished it. It's not up to Kat's usual suspensefulness as in her other spy stories, but I liked it alot anyway. I found the love story much more compelling. I ended up going back and rereading the highlights of their love story (and there were many) right after I finished reading the story the first time. If you're looking for a good, unconditional love story, you'll enjoy this book. If you're after more of the intrigue, you may be disappointed. I still love Kat Martin!

Summary: There was definitely passion!
Review: It is true that a lot of times how you rate and feel about a book - depends on the mood you were in when reading it. There are times I am just not in the mood for regency (I need a change)so I move on to something else. After saying that, I guess I was just in the mood for a good regency book full of danger, passion, murder suspects, passion, hidden childhood secrets, passion, etc. because I enjoyed the story between Elisa Tuber and Colonel Adrian Kingsland. Elisa is looking for her brother's murderer. Since it is not acceptable for a young single woman to travel by herself, Elisa takes the false identity as her father's widow (her mother) to be able to travel throughout Austria from England without trouble.

Colonel Adrian Kingsland (Lord Wolvermont) has a career in the military and is well liked amongst the women. But he hasn't settled down due to childhood secrets that hinder him from giving his heart away. His and Elisa's paths cross and he is taken by her. He puts the pressure on her and won't give up. Though a familiar story amongst regency books, this is one that caught my attention in the beginning and was fast-paced for me. I enjoyed the ride and look forward to future KM books. I hope you will give this one a try.

Summary: English romance in war-torn Austria
Review: Kat Martin writes a romance book like no other. Rarely am I even slightly disappointed in one of her books. Dangerous Passions was a fantastic read. Although I have owned the book for at least a year, I hesitated to read it because of the plot summary. Having a young lady (Elisa) from a good family travel from England to Austria, under a false identity, during the war seemed a bit of a stretch for me. On top of that she had her mother's permission, pretended to be a widowed countess, and was looking for a spy that probably killed her brother! I did not think that a very good story could come from such unbelievable circumstances but I was wrong. This is romance writing and unlikely circumstances are written all of the time. I gave Martin the chance to establish the story line and by page twenty, I was hooked and had a great time reading this tale.

Elisa Tauber is an English country gal gently raised outside of mainstream society by her father, a destitute Austrian count, and her mother, a former actress. She is looking for a spy that her brother, prior to his recent death, had written of in his last letter. He gives three likely suspects and asks his family to not let this spy get away with any further traitorous acts if he should die. Now Elisa is in Austria, under the guidance of a friend of her dead father, and she is making herself acquainted with two of the three traitors listed in her brother's letter. Elisa, although an innocent, thinks her acting ability will make others believe she is an experienced widow used to traveling and societal affairs. She is fully dedicated in bringing the traitor down and very stubborn about it as well. However, she is dealing with dangerous men in more ways than one.

Colonel Adrian Kingsland, Lord Wolvermont, is a career military man and loves the ladies and the ladies love him. He resembles so many of those historical romance heroes from England. He has hidden hurts from his childhood, takes no woman seriously, and certainly never plans to marry. When he and Elisa first meet, under very embarrassing circumstances, Adrian is immediately taken with her. He is determined to make this young widow his bed partner and makes no secret of it. He infiltrates her life in any way he can. Of course he is a very confident man and is aware of his considerable charm. However, he cannot understand her attraction to two particular men (two of the traitor candidates) and becomes quite agitated at the attention she gives them.

There are a few familiar romance plot twists but Kat Martin writes them so well that you hardly notice. One of the things I appreciate about her writing style is that she seldom uses The Big Misunderstanding. Her leads usually interact honestly and any misunderstandings are typically settled within a few pages. The interaction between Adrian and Elisa is just plain fun in the beginning and moves to very serious by the end. Although there are times of laughter, this one will also cause a few tears to flow as well. Dangerous Passions is one of those books that you will not want to put down. There are frequent sensual scenes that rate a solid 4.0 out of 5.0 (see More About Me for rating guidelines).

This book contains a lot of action and there is not a boring page. You will discover that it stretches the limits of believability more than once but if you can just ignore that occasional implausible moment, you will thoroughly enjoy reading Dangerous Passions.
