Rating: Summary: A book that touched my heart Review: Sophie is pure-hearted and very innocent. I wish I could be like her, then my christian life would be a lot better. This book has great values, and it really is a "must read" kinda book
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Story full of God's Love Review: This was my first Lori Wick novel, and now I am working my way through her other books as well!! This story is full of lifes truest emotions tempered with the faith of a child as we see the world thru Sophie's eyes..which are looking at the world through God's eyes. With love and compassion. Her journey to love for a man and his family is one of surprise, at times anguish and always full of hope! This is a wonderful read! I walked away wanting to be more like Sophie in my walk of faith! You will not be sorry you purchased this book!
Rating: Summary: Disappointing! Review: I realize that many people love this book, but for me it fell short. I guess Sophie seemed a little too unrealistic--she was portrayed a little too smuggly perhaps. It seemed like she was a bit too perfect. I didn't care for this book much.
Rating: Summary: Sophie's Heart is one of my all time favorite books! Review: Lori Wick did a wonderful job on Sophie's Heart. I have read this book at least five times and will probably read it five more. It tell of an emmigrant who comes to America to start a new life. She meets a family who has recently lost their mother and becomes their housekeeper. She wins her way into their hearts and lives. It is a wonderful romantic story. I would recommend this book and any of Lori Wick's other books.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This book touched my heart and made me cry. Lori Wick paints a beautiful picture of Christian character. If you want to think on "whatsoever things are true, lovely, etc." then this book would be an excellent way to spend your reading time.
Rating: Summary: A WONDERFULLY CLEAN NOVEL Review: WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY THIS IS AN EXCELENT BOOK!!!
Rating: Summary: A delightful, heart-warming story. Review: This story of Sophie's struggle to adapt to life in America is a heart-felt look into our culture. She finds acceptance through a local women's group at a local church. There she finds friendship that leads to fullfillment of lifelong dreams.Lori Wick's writing is a pleasure to read. I feel I am watching a movie and I don't want it to end! I have read every book she has written, most even twice, and eagerly await her next accomplishment. Thank you Lori.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: The growth of Lori Wick as a writer is clearly evident in this book. I love her historical Christian Fiction, but this book took my breath away! This modern romance has it all! You will become a Lori Wick fan with any of her novels, but this one is extra special.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down until the last word on the last page. Review: Lori Wick, in her novel, "Sophie's Heart," has brought forth a compelling work, illustrating the human spirit with a heart for Christ. The faith expressed by Sophie, not to mention the growth of spirit in Alec, moved my own heart to repentance in areas that I had long put to the side. As a writer myself, I find that I can easily become accustomed to reading the same thing, day in, day out, but this was no ordinary story. "Sophie's Heart" was so compelling that I just couldn't put it down. I picked it up the afternoon that I received it, thinking, oh, I'll just thumb through it, check out the prologue...and then before I knew it, it was midnight, and I was still reading. Thank you, Lori, for such a wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: What an encouragement!! Review:
Sophie's patience in waiting on God encourages all people, whether in relationships or not, to be still and listen for God's voice. The tenderness of this novel kept me reading until 2 or 3 in the morning as I didn't want to put the book down. Read this book and you'll be blessed!
