Summary: An okay read
Review: Hangar 13 is another Dreamscape reissue I think was chosen more for the popular author than for the story itself. It first came out in 1994 as Silhouette Shadows 27. It's not a bad story. It's just not much of a paranormal romance. It's more like a regular romance with a supernatural subplot. Ellie is a Native American woman who is brought in when the military can't figure out the strange happenings in Hangar 13. Inside she finds an evil only she can fight. It sounds cool but the book is pretty boring. Most of the book is Ellie and Mac sitting around her house, having dinner and discussing her spirituality. The scenes in the hangar where Ellie fights the evil are the best but they take up a small part of the story and there aren't enough of them. Hangar 13 was a good idea. I just wished there was more action.

Summary: Storyline
Review: The moment she stepped into the echoing silence of Hangar 13, Ellie O'Gentry knew herself to be in the presence of an entity of breathtaking power -- a presence so terrible, she doubted that even the mystic gifts bequeathed by her ancestors could lay it to rest...
She knew, too, how difficult it was for a combat-hardened fighter pilot like Maj. Mac Stanford, a man who placed his faith in refined technology and raw courage, to recognize the limits of HIS powers -- and ask the guidance of a Cherokee medicine shamaness.

But some things simply could not be denied. Like the evil spirit gathering strength in Hangar 13 -- and the stunning passion flaring between Ellie and this modern-day warrior...

Summary: Paranormal romance
Review: This book was not just another romance, in my view. The paranormal elements of the plot were strong and well written, accurately based on real life shamanic methods of soul retrieval and banishing. I liked the way it showed two people from totally different life experiences coming together and growing to love and respect each other. It also showed the risks involved in "ghost busting" and the need for proper training. I enjoyed the native American dimension that Ms. McKenna brought in to this story.
