Rating: Summary: "First Love" is memorable, touching, and moving. Review: "First Love" is warm and affectionate. Cheryl Faye's characters Lena Caldwell and Quincy Taylor were life like. The reader could almost see Lena's shy smiles and actions, as well as see Quincy's smashing smiles and fine body.Lena's parents, both now deceased, had kept Lena sheltered while they were alive. Excitement for Lena revolved around coming home, curling up on the sofa, and reading a romance novel. Four months after Lena's mother died, Lena's life changed dramatically. Lena blossomed from an innocent 25 year old virgin into a mature woman. Lena's fantasies of love and romance that she read in novels began to come true in her life the moment Quincy stepped off the elevator and walked into the reception area of the bank where Lena was the receptionist. Quincy's life changed also. His horoscope for the day he first met Lena came true. Quincy became the man of Lena's dreams, but as with dreams, once you awaken from your dreams, you must face reality. For Lena, reality was Quincy's ex-fiance', Rhonda, who suddenly shows up and expects to pick up where she so rudely left off. Rhonda's return brings about several changes. Her return causes Quincy world to turn upside down. Will Quincy be a man and live up to his promises he made to his new love, Lena? Or will Quincy succumb to Rhonda and try to rekindle the past? What about Lena? What effect will Quincy's actions have on Lena and their new life together? Ms. Faye has the reader wondering if Quincy will live up to the man that Lena and others think he is or if Quincy will put Lena through what he once suffered at Rhonda's rejection. Also, Quincy and Lena's friends, Serge and Karen make a great couple. There could have been more feedback on Serge and Karen, but perhaps that could be the making for another novel. The novel could have had a more detailed ending, but overall "First Love" is a great book and it is a fast read! The reader will not want to put the book down until it is finished. "First Love" is indeed rated a five-star book.
Rating: Summary: Cute story Review: After living a very sheltered life Lesley Caldwell could not believe when the fine gentlemen Quincy stops and talks to her. She could not control her blushes and giggles. Her only source of relationships with men are from her romance novels. Quincy could have any woman that he wants and knows that there are many who want him also. What he can't believe is that he is so attracted to Lesley because she is not like some of the women he has dated in the past. There relationship grows but not without some drama. There fellow co-worker Cheryl is a trip. Some of the things she does and says are just unbelievable. This is an easy one day read. I was shocked that Cheryl wrote such a short book compared to her previous releases. You will love this book there is laughter, sadness and the most important issue suspense.
Rating: Summary: Very good story Review: As I can relate to Lena on a number of different levels I really enjoyed this book! Everyone was believable and realistic. I did, however, give this book just 4 stars as I found the author's style of writing to be a little lacking. Some of the dialogue was a bit corny;i.e. 'after you my lady love'... Please! Who says that? I love a good line as much as the next romance lover but I shouldn't burst out laughing when I read it. A few grammatical errors were also found. Don't know whether I should blame the author or the editor as these should have been caught before printing. The love scene was nice, but there was only one. I'm not a pervert or anything but I would have liked to have seen Lena mature in that aspect as well, since she did mature in other aspects of her life. All in all a good read I will read it several more times.
Rating: Summary: SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL, SIMPLY PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Cheryl Faye has simply hit perfect with this one. As with all others Ms. Faye has truly blown me away. The story of Quincy and Lena is spectacular and also very simple but, at the same time it deals with what every couple has to at one point or another go thourgh.Lena, shy and naive' is brought to life by Quincy and his, to her, magical ways. Ms. Faye writes romance like no one else, the way she makes you feel as if your living Lena and Quincey's pain or even sharing in their love. The way the writer brings out the best in each character even those that not main ones is amazing with this book and Ms. Faye's amazing writing it males you beleive in two things 1. That love can be very simple and still very romantic. and 2. Ms. Faye is definitly here to stay as an author. This book is definitly the bomb!!!
Rating: Summary: A Note to My Readers Review: Dear Readers, Being the incurable romantic that I am, I love a good love story, whether it's in book, musical, motion picture or any other format. I can sit in a movie theater, in front of a television or even read a book and when the hero and heroine finally come together for that happily ever after ending, I've got my tissues right there, wiping my eyes and grinning from ear to ear. I truly hope you will enjoy my tender story "First Love" and hope that it will, if not bring you to tears of joy, at least put a smile on your face and leave you feeling as I do, that with love all things are possible. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: First love is the story of Shy Lena, who's never even had a boyfriend at the age of 25, until she meets Quincy a new guy at her job, who finds himself attracted to Lena even though she is not the type he is use to dating. How these two overcome Lena's shyness to become a couple is wonderful.
Rating: Summary: Love for Cheryl Faye Review: I have all of Cheryl Fayes romance novels. They are all deserving of 5 stars. I tell you,I swear I think Cheryl found out about me and my life story especially with this story. I see myself in Lena a lot. The sheltered woman with no man. The loneliness, all of that is me. Although I still have yet to find a man, I'm sure hoping that he'll be Quincy. LOL. I've read her books at least 3 or 4 times, and each time it seems like the first. Cheryl keep up the good work, and hurry with another novel.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Story! Review: I have had the pleasure of reading all of Cheryl Faye's books and realized after reading this book why I love her style of writing so much. Ms Faye, presents to us the three-ring relationship issues. There's this great couple, Lena Caldwell and Quincy Taylor; then there's the ex-fiance Rhonda. The author shows us in this easy read of 24 chapters and 250 pages the first time love for Lena with Quincy. Quincy's patience and love did alot for shy-sheltered Lena. But in any relationship stories done by Ms Faye there is always a conflict boiling somewhere. Well she developes the story very well by giving us an illustration as to how the conflict gets resolved. I truly enjoyed, Lena, Quincy, Karen and Serge; the delightful Cheryl (character in this book) turned out to be an asset in this story, but first she really tested my nerves. As for Rhonda, a lesson in life she needed to learn. Thanks Cheryl Faye for another one of your books providing some life-lesson matters dealing with relationships and matters of the heart. If you enjoy books that just happen to be about couples that involve another woman making every effort to break them up, check out these books by Ms Faye: At First Sight, A Time For Us and A Test of Time. You won't be disappointed how well she works these stories and will appreciate the author for using this as a major subject matter for her books. Looking forward to your next book! Much success throughout the new century.
