Summary: Don Joaquin's Pride
Review: Hi, I'm proud to be on amazon.com and telling you about my book. I had a great time writing it and I hope you enjoy it just as much. Joaquin Del Castillo was as proud as his Latino heritage and he instantly acted to right the wrong that he believed had been done to his elderly employee. He would lure the girl who owed the old man money to Guatemala and here she would stay until she agreed to pay her debt! But something about Joaquin's captive didn't add up. On the surface, Lucy appeared to be a gold digger but underneath she was...innocent. Joaquin's pride unleashed unexpected consequences- his contempt for her was rivaled by his blazing desire!

Summary: Don Joaquin's Pride
Review: I enjoyed this book because I think one of Lynne's greatest strengths as an author is that even though we are reading a romance novel, she makes her heros and heroines as real as possible. What I mean is that the characters are intense and react in ways that real people would react even when that way is flawed. I also think Lynne's characters speak and react for the given situation. Her conflicts are always well defined and serious so I think her characters talk to each other like they do because to be polite just wouldn't work.

Like all her books, this one was great and I'll buy the next one as soon as its available because I know I won't be disappointed.

Summary: What A Big Jerk!
Review: I generally enjoy Lynne Graham's novels, but the hero in this book was such a jerk that I had to rate it one star (I would give it zero stars if possible). There never seemed to be a love story in the plot. The hero was not at all understanding throughout the book and at times seem to flat out hate the heroine. For once, I would like to see her heroines stronger and take charge. Why is it that all her heroines are such doormats and forgives the guy so quickly after the misunderstandings? She will generally put up with a lot of abuse - about three quarters of the book and then tends to forgive the hero in one paragraph. The only heroine that had any backbone of any sort in her books was The Unfaithful Wife. Her heros are generally egotistical but this one takes the cake. Her heroines are generally naive but this one is an idiot too. It was a painful story to read.

Summary: Tough guy
Review: I like Lynne Graham very much. My problem with this book is that the woman is just trying to help her sister, who is a jerk, and gets into a terrible situation with the guy. Even when he discovers that she isn't the person he thought, instead of admiring her loyalty and integrety he throws a temper tantrum and walks away from her, giving her the blame for his injured ego. One gets the impression that if she hadn't grovelled at his feet asking for forgiveness that he would have been gone forever. Not a warm and fuzzy kind of guy.

Summary: Where Was the Chemistry?
Review: I usually like Lynne Graham's books, but a lot of them have heroes that are complete jerks. In this book the hero, Juaquin del Castillo, is an arrogant tycoon who was nothing but cruel throughout the story. He treated the heroine, Lucy, horribly and she fell in love with him anyway. He talked to her like some teenage guy with an overabundance of testosterone. If someone was that crude and desrespectful to me I would take a gun to him. He was cruel to her right to the very last five pages where he suddenly says that he loves her. Did I miss something here? I realize that he thought she was her con artist twin sister, but what bothered me was that when he realized Lucy was pretending to be her twin, he had the nerve to get angry with her for lying to him when he did nothing to gain her trust. The heroine, Lucy, is like a doormat during the whole story. She takes Juaquin's insults all the way to the bitter end and falls in love with him anyways. It was almost painful to read. I'm not saying that Lynne Graham is a terrible author. She has written some great books. I loved The Unfaithful Wife, Bond Of Hatred and The Spanish Groom.

Summary: Chemistry!
Review: Joaquin is not a jerk! Naturally he was tough on Lucy when he believed that her greedy demands had reduced his elderly employee to poverty. Of course he was shocked and hurt when he discovered that Lucy was not even the woman he had believed her to be! Honesty is crucial in all relationships and a man in love would have little sympathy for Lucy's loyalty to her sister, rather than to him. What kind of man would not be frantic about the safety of a teenage sister, who has gone missing in a foreign country? At this point, don't forget that the old man's money has not been returned and Joaquin has no resaon to think better of Lucy on that score. This story had several very funny episodes and I thought it was excellent. Where was the chemistry? Hey, were you guys reading the same book that I was? I thought the chemistry sizzled off the pages!

Summary: Love?
Review: Lynne Graham is one of my favorite romance authors. As with her other books, Don Joaquin's Pride is well written. I was disappointed with the hero. It never seemed like he fell in love with the heroine. He seemed far more concerned with his own ego and his sister's well being. If you're a Lynne Graham fan, I would still recommend this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not Lynne's best but still way above the rest!
Review: Lynne Graham's books are so well written that it's shocking that a reader can give her book a one star. Lynne Graham is my favorite author, and I've given most of her books a five-star rating, but I have given this book 4 stars because although the chemistry is wonderful between the hero and heroine, I did not feel it was as intense as in most of her other books because there is only one major love scene at the middle of the book and a short one at the end. Lynne's heroes are very powerful personalities and in their misunderstanding of the heroines, they can verbally be quite cruel, but the heroines always tell them off. The interaction between them is great, whether they're making love or arguing. Do not let a one-star review by another reader deter you from buying this book. This book has a great story, wonderful chemistry, beautiful setting, superb dialogue, and if you like the type of heroes (gorgeous, powerful, billionaires) and heroines (virginal, Cinderella-types) that Lynne writes about, then this book cannot be rated lower than four stars.

Summary: Another cracker from Lynne!
Review: Lynne never ceases to amaze me with her ability to write passionate, sexy, but also sensitve books! This one only seems more lighthearted because the hero and heroine do not have a past with each other, whereas many of Lynne's characters do. There was a raw sensuality that dominated all the scenes from the hero and heroine's meeting, particulary in the Guatemalan bush. What I love is Lynne's ability to give a fresh spin to a plot, and this happened when the hero's sister made her quick getaway with Lucy. This was totally unexpected and kept me rooted to the page from thereafter. The heroine's sister was basically not a nice person, so I can completely understand why the hero treated Lucy the way he did. I wonder did some people forget when reading this story that the hero was under the illusion of Lucy BEING her sister for most of the book and being a nasty thief. This book again confirms my loyalty to Lynne Graham as a writer. I can't wait for Lynne's next book and can only hope it will have a plot just as lively as this one has!
