Rating: Summary: The Golden Ashtray by Joan Banks Review: I feel as if I should print the title in an antique gold leaf because this ashtray is not your run of the mill utensil used for ashes and cigarette butts, but a work of art. In an unusual way, it plays a part in the story. I'm so glad I read this book even though it's not my usual genre. I would have hated to have missed the story of this woman, Sandra, her family and friends. Sandra is sometimes wise and other times not. She has strenght of character, yet at times she makes bad choices. In other words, she's oh, so human. I enjoyed following Sandra through her trials and triumphs. At times I cheered her on but by the next chapter I might find myself giving her advise (silently of course) like a favorite aunt.

This read was not time wasted, it was well spent. Lia
Rating: Summary: The Golden Ashtray Review: This book was the most delightful book that I have read in a very long time. It kept me wanting to turn the page to find out what happened next. I enjoy all romances, and knowing that this one came from real life was especially captivating. I hope that you get a chance to read it. I believe that you will love it just as much as I did.

Rating: Summary: great twisted love story! Review: This is a greatlove story, very well written. It is not your tyipcal love story following all the usual scenes. It is based on real people with a bit of imagination. I am not normally a big fan of love storys, but this one is a winner! I had to keep reading well into the night to find out what happened! Unlike most that I could guess right away. Joan Banks has done a excellent job with this book! I look forward to another novel from her.
