Summary: Passion and Perseverance
Review: First, this is a story of following your passion and doing what you love best...and how, not just one person--but five generations in two families, followed their passion, and how that passion beget the famous rose "Peace". Written in 1965, the book weaves together the stories of these lives, creating unforgettable characters in the loving retelling of family anectdotes. Adversity and the horror of war, disappointment and death--these occur but are not dwelt on. In these families, in these times, one accepts life's hardships and moves on. One begins with a dream, but it is hard work that makes dreams come true.

Review: If there ever was a perfect love story, this is it. Antonia Ridge traces several generations of three families whose passion for the rose unites them together. The result is the creation of the most important rose in history, the Peace rose. Some of the events surrounding this story seem too amazing to be true, but they are true. See how "the love of a rose" overcomes even world war to make that famous statement, "Love conquers all." Even the hardest of hearts will be touched by this book.

Summary: Beautifully written story of a family joined by roses.
Review: This book is a touching history of generations of families who adore roses and creating new roses. It is well-written by Antonia Ridge, an author who created a very vivid scene of life in France and how it changed over the years. She explains the skill of creating roses very well. The families in the book are lovable and unforgettable. I also suggest Ridge's "Family Album".
