Summary: A promising first novel
Review: This is a fine first novel. Mick has a great way of combining bits and pieces of everyone he has known over the last 20 years. The first few chapters seemed a little disjointed until all the characters came together. Its worth staying with it. I know I will never walk through the Hyatt lobby again without thinking of this book. Anyone familiar with Kansas City will find themselves paying close attention to his portrayal of different parts of the metro area. Mick knows the city well. It is apparent that he also knows corporate life and the governor's office firsthand. This is an enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to his next novel.
