Rating: Summary: Could have been better Review: Love come easy is the love story of Michael and Jennifer. Jennifer didn't think Michael would love her if he knew she was adopted. I think the book could have been better, Jennifer and Michael's relationship only seemed to consist of sleeping together.
Rating: Summary: Real Love Review: The title is catchy enough for those of us who can bare witness that love doesn't come easy. The book itself, Love Doesn't Come Easy by Charlyne Dickerson is a nice story of a woman's mixed feelings about men. She soons realizes that there is hope after all.Jennifer Johnson has those mixed feelings when it comes to men as she readily quotes in a paragraph of the book "men are brain dead when it comes to romance, the kind of romance most women dream about. I just don't get it". Her best friend Sherry is forever defending the faith of black men to Jennifer and strongly feels once the right man comes along her attitude will surely change. Enters Michael Maxwell, an attorney, who is instantly drawn to Jennifer. Although Jennifer has mix emotions about Michael, their attraction to each other is not a minor thing. After spending time with him, Jennifer soon throws caution to the wind and proceeds to enjoy their developing relationship. But....there is still a problem. Michael, who was raised in a large loving family environment feels family life is very important. He reflects on his mother's enjoyment in tracing family ancestors and knowing who or where your family comes from is so important. Jennifer on the other hand, was adopted and though raised by loving parents, her turmoil has always been knowing who her real parents were and why they gave her up for adoption. Feeling this way, she is afraid to tell Michael about her adoption. Although she doesn't want to hurt her adoptive parents' feelings, she desperately wants to know about her parents and the reason behind her adoption. She sets out to find the truth and is suddenly confronted by a complete stranger who knows all about her and her adoption. Love Doesn't Come Easy by Charlyne Dickerson is a wonderful read. I give this book a rating of 3.5. Reviewed by Kalaani
Rating: Summary: Very weak Review: This book had a very weak plot. Ms. Dickerson tried to make Jennifer have problems with not having family roots therefore she was so sad and frightened that Micheal wouldn't want her. I think Micheal's character should have been a little more forceful. He seemed weak and unsure of himself. The situation with Tawana was kind of stupid. What man would believe that he impregnated a woman that's a known liar. This book just didn't strike any chords. She wrote alot about nothing. Very weak and unrealistic.
