Summary: An adorble couple in a sweet storyline
Review: Douglas Clayborne arrives in Sweetwater to pick up a horse but winds up delivering Isobel Grant's baby when he realizes the widow is alone and isolated from the rest of the town because of an edict made by the town bully. The baby is safely delivered and when Douglas goes into town to pick up supplies, he sets into motion a plan that will rid the town of the ruling despot. ....The only hitch comes when the doctor, who is a friend of Isobel's, informs him that he will have to wait ten weeks before he can move Isobel and her son out of danger. Douglas stands guard over the pair, protecting them, and caring for them as if he were her husband and the infant's father. Isobel grows to love her gallant protector but Douglas, fearing that Isobel's feelings are based on obligation not love, intends to walk away after he's assured of their safety. .....This is a very special and moving read, a gift from a beloved author to her huge flock of fans. In some respects ONE WHITE ROSE has much more emotional impact on the senses than the larger Julie Garwood novels; due to the fact that she has to pack the same emotional knockout she is known for in a shorter amount of space. Ms. Garwood succeeds big time with this novel. .....Harriet Klausner

Summary: Julie Garwood is a genious!
Review: Her books are awsome! She is one of the top romance writter in my book I have read 17 of Julie Garwood's novels and she astounds me every time I read a new one. I suggest if you want to read this book start with the book "For the Roses" then go onto read "One Pink Rose", "One white Rose", and "One Red Rose" and then read "Come the Spring" These books are all about the Claybourne family and how they strived to survive raising an abandoned baby that they found in New York and turning her into a lady. After their little Mary Rose is grown up and Married to a highland Lawyer named Harrison each brother is tempted by women into settling down will the brothers run or face the destiny that MAMA Rose tricks them into.

Summary: Okay
Review: I did love For the Roses so immediately picked this one up when it came out. It was too short, though to have any character or plot depth. It only took a little over an hour to read and was left with a feeling of "Okay, so what now?". Julie Garwood is a phenomenal author and this just wasn't a very good example of that. I'd recommend any of her other books though!

Summary: A charming love story
Review: I had a hard time getting into Garwood's first novella of the Clayborne Brides, and actually didn't read it until after devouring this and the third novella. This was a great story - one that could have been turned into a full-length novel. It's a great diversion for a short plane ride or bus trip. Of course, it's not as fulfilling as her full-length novels, but what do you expect? It's short. Pick this one up - I'd say it was the best of the three novellas.

Summary: Okay not the best
Review: I have always been a big fan with Julie Garwoods book, but I was disapointed with this one. This was an okay book, did like the way Douglas respected Isabeal, he cared for her and treated the baby like it was his own and that was good. But at the end it was bad because the man is suppose to go after the girl.

Summary: All Thumbs Are Up
Review: I have read all of Julie Garwood's books to date. And as expected, "One White Rose" pull's you into it's story. "The Clayborne Brides" series may be smaller in size, but their impact is still as grand as her larger novels. If you desire great reading, I highly recommend every book that Julie Garwood has written.

Summary: One White, one pink and one red rose!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed For The Roses- and went straight to the library to find these 3 smaller books. Their length did not bother me. But they did seem a little shallow. Out of the 3, One White Rose is the best to me. I did enjoy the story and would recommend others read it. The other 2 were silly and too unrealistic to me (especially One Red Rose).

Summary: Julie Garwood continues the Clayborne saga
Review: I was thrilled with the latest edition to the Clayborne saga. Douglas was my favorite brother in the original book, so reading his love story was just great! The characters were colorful and very real. I was so glad that he finds just the right woman in this book. Defnitely a must read if you read the first book.
