Summary: My 1st inspirational romance
Review: This is the first "inspirational romance" that I've read, so I can't really say whether or not it lived up to my expectations, because I didn't really have any.

Overall I liked the story. I liked that it was inspirational and not so over-the-top cheesy romantic. I felt like I could identify with the characters;I found myself caring about what happened to them and wanting to find out how they would resolve things. It did seem to end rather abruptly though. I would have liked to see a little more in-depth resolution of Reid and Cammi's "issues", because they had a lot of guilt and heartache to overcome.

I got all excited when I saw that there was another book in this series, but then found out that the next book is about Cammi's sister, so unfortunately I don't expect to find any continuance of Reid and Cammi's story any time soon. I would still recommend this book if you are a fan of inspirational romance. This one has drawn me into the genre and I can't wait to read my next one.

Summary: Fate Takes a Hand
Review: When Reid Alexander was just a kid he broadsided Rose London when she ran a red light. It was dark and stormy and Reid was only fourteen, driving with a special license on his way to get medicine when it happened. Rose died in the accident and her husband Lamont blamed Reid, called the boy a murderer, said he took his little girl's momma away, though the accident clearly wasn't Reid's fault.

Years pass and one of those girls has grown up. She is Cammi Carlisle, coming home after a failed attempt to make it as an actress in Hollywood. She runs the same red light and as fate would have it, Reid broadsides her. Fortunately nobody is hurt.

Sparks fly between these two damaged people. The man who raised Reid is terminally ill and that tests Reid's faith, as has that accident all these years. Cammi is pregnant, but without a husband as the two-timing rat had been killed in an accident with one of his girlfriend shortly after they'd been married.

Can Reid finally find happiness and can he find it with the daughter of the woman who had died that fateful night when he was a child? And can Cammi forgive him when she finds out that he was the other party in that accident?

I like inspirational romances, but I like the inspirational part to be a little more in the background. For me the romance should be front and center. It's okay to quote from the Good Book, but I believe it should be kept to a minimum. Too much gets in the way of the story in my opinion and I think that perhaps Ms. Lough relied a little too much on the Word and also a little too much on coincidence. Still it was a very good story.
