Summary: A light, pleasant read -- recommended
Review: Antonia Campbell left behind the devastatingly socially correct world of her parents, and the abusive world of her ex-husband, to create life according to her own desires in Angel Eye, Texas. Four years of independence and hard work culminate in her dream job of veterinarian. Not just limiting her skills to cats and dogs, at six feet tall, Antonia can care for even the largest animals in distress.

When Antonia shows up at Daniel Sutton's ranch to help a mare in crisis, he's not so certain the towering beauty has what it takes to save horse and colt. But when she rides away successfully, Antoinia also rides away with a piece of his heart. Sparks fly the moment he set eyes on Antonia, and Daniel can't resist this reserved beauty. He's raised his son alone for fifteen years, and never minded be alone until she stirs emotions he thought he'd forgotten. But when danger calls, Daniel's protective streak may be too much for the fiercely independent vet.

HARD-HEADED TEXAN will leave you wondering who's the most hard-headed -- the woman in love that refuses to give into her emotions or the man who won't give up. With a gently entertaining style, Candace Camp proves that equally matched and equally hard-characters create a charmingly light, enjoyable read filled with deep emotions and evocative characterizations. Indeed, the unusual career choice for the heroine provides a fresh and intriguing background; unfortunately the plot lacks the bite necessary to create a really memorable read. Nevertheless, HARD-HEADED TEXAN comes recommended.

Summary: I want more Sutton brothers!
Review: Not gonna repeat other reviewers' summaries. I really enjoyed this book. But, is it just me? Did anyone else get the feeling that there would be more books to follow, involving the other brothers? I looked all over, but could not find anything : (
This book left me wanting more!

Summary: Back flap of the book !
Review: Okay, maybe Antonia Campbell hadn't exactly found heaven in Angel Eye, Texas. But even if she did get mysterious midnight phone call and her only bed warmer was a cat named Mitzi, her life as a county vet was a lot better than what she'd left behind: a stifling Virginia upbringing and an abusive ex-husband.

Then a call to Daniel Sutton's ranch changed everything. Sparks flew the minute they met, and in his arms she felt petite, protected and every inch a woman. But Daniel's heart might not be as free as it first seemed, and her mysterious caller appeared to have ideas of his own for her future. Was everything about to fall apart just when heaven had seemed within reach?
