Summary: Great historical details
Review: I love the level of historical detail. Some "historicals" just seem to take contemporary characters and plunk them down in "old timey" backgrounds without giving any setting details or even correct dialogue. However, I these character's motivations aren't very clear or logical. Ian Scott is NOT Christian's father, so why does he keep whining and having a chip on his shoulder? If anything, he should be THANKING Ian Scott for cutting him out of his mother's womb, and tolerating a cheating wife. But no, he keeps crying and blubbering and pursuing a woman he thinks is his "SISTER"?? If she really was his sister, that'd be pretty sick.
I have no sympathy for him because he actually was forced to be raised by his REAL father. I can think of worse things!!

It's also illogical that Liana could construe Christian was the one writing the inflammatory pamphlets just from looking at a woodcut, and mentally comparing it to a handwriting sample. Drawings and handwriting are two different things.

But this is a good mix of history and romance, if you can ignore the character's foggy motivations.

Summary: Great book! The plot was very entertaining and educational.
Review: This book was very entertaining, and gave me a good sense of what life was like in that era. I have many more questions about Ian's and Melissa's story. Also, I think Johanna an David's story line could deveope into a good story. The book just makes me want to know what happened to the characters of the past as well as what will happen during the war and beyond. So, please tell me, are there any books written about any of these character or will there be any written?
