Rating: Summary: Love is ageless Review: Couldn't put it down. FINALY, a love story for the mature. The atmosphere was mysterious enough to keep page turning a must. I loved the background-Danvers State Hospital. If you love an interesting romance, you can get 2 books in one with "Lost Souls". I've recommended this to my friends, and have yet to receive a negative response. Congratulations to a promising new author...I hope there are many, many novels of her gendre to come.
Rating: Summary: To the NO-NAMES in Jacksonville and Boston .... Review: HMMMM.... I just finished reading the reviews from Boston and Jacksonville.... Sounds too similar in the review.. Perhaps its beyond your intelligence?? VERY STRANGE! I hate romance novels, and this is DEFINATELY not in that category, I COMPLETELY disagree.... Not being biased, BUT this is a far cry from Harlequin... Are you sure you read this book??
Rating: Summary: Lost Souls of the Witches' Castle Review: I absolutely loved the book. I read it in one seating. It "fed" the romantic part of my soul. It was written clearly so you could actually "see" the characters and places. I am from Massachusetts and I particularly enjoyed the mention of places I have visited. My only complaint is it wasn't long enough.
Rating: Summary: Injustices Prevailed Review: I come from a small town in Penna. where we also had an institution much like Danvers State Hospital. We heard daily of so many horror stories. This book is a story of love, deep soul searching, mystery and the sad life of one of the "lost souls". It keeps you wanting to know more and more of the parallel love so clearly happening before your very eyes. It was very riveting and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. Terri DuLong has a wonderful way of staying focused and relaying things in a down to earth way. Thanks for a wonderful story and keep the good books coming! Doris
Rating: Summary: A page-turner. Review: I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys discovering new and talented authors, with a great future in front of them.
Rating: Summary: A timeless love story Review: I was intrigued by Terri DuLong's novel Lost Souls of the Witches' Castle, because of my childhood memories of riding past this eerie, real-life institution in the back seat of my parent's car. Terri DuLong has masterfully intertwined a story of two loves, decades apart. A gripping tale of a lost and lonely resident at Danvers State Institution, the secrets those who worked there were forced to keep, and a modern day couple who will be forever changed by fate. A story of how true love will never be denied. - R.V. Pen Names Bookstore, Cedar Key, FL
Rating: Summary: I loved this book. Review: I was intrigued by the subject matter. I had worked at the hospital mentioned in the book. I grew up in the area the book was written about. The story is good and it involves characters in my age range. Similar values and personalities. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Attention anyone in the medical profession and certainly anyone from the north shore of Massachusetts it is a must read. Anyone who travelled I-95 will recall the building on the hill.

Rating: Summary: unexpected romance Review: I'm afraid I didn't like this book. I bought it because it referenced Danvers State Hospital, a great interest of mine, and featured it prominently on the jacket blurb and in the cover photos. This was extremely misleading, as the story had virtually nothing to do with this, and in fact the hospital was used only as a vague semi-setting, mentioned occasionally in passing. Sadly, what I found was a shallow, predicable romance, filled with boring characters, hollow plotting, simplistic and tedious detailing, plodding and deliberate references to the area that seemed only there to point out that the author was actually familiar with the town, and painfully unrealistic dialog: "oh, peyton, stop. it's simply a long skirt with matching blouse." I don't know about you, but I don't talk like a catalog description when checking out an outfit with my daughter! I'm checking over every available shoulder to make sure no part of me looks strange! I also found that the entire book seemed to be nothing more than romantic lamentations and unrealistic situations. The two main characters go on ad nauseum about each other, and even a long dead woman present only in a journal manages to whine incessently about her lost love! She doesn't have better things to worry about? Insipid and shallow much? I'm locked in a mental hospital for 20 years, and the only thing on my mind for that entire two decades is "my dear jonathan, how i miss him" ? I think not. Goodness. There was potential here for a great story, with incredible depth and richness, but it never panned out. Instead, I found characters I simply couldn't care about, simplistic and boring detailing, and far too much tepid penny romance. I wouldn't buy anything else by this author.
Rating: Summary: Lost Story Review: I'm an avid reader, but this book was a disappointment. The Harlequin story line had little to interest me. Not often is it, that I cannot get through a book, but "Lost Souls of Witches Castles" was one. Something was missing from this book--a story perhaps?
