Rating: Summary: SECOND INSTALLMENT OF "FOUR WINDS' Review: Joshua Blackhorse is a Navajo healer and the youngest of the three Blackhorse brothers. Did I read six foot six? Built like a tree, for which his brothers affectionately call him, the sheriff is called "Fuzz" and Lucas was called "Shadow" -- "Tree"'s older brothers."Tree" must maintain his inner peace to be effective in his sings. He is the only one that knows the sacred "song" to bring about the grandfather's health. With the advent of his father's murder and the presence of Nydia Jim, his inner peace is shot to [well you know where]. Nydia prefers to be a modernist, but she is seeking out Joshua to fulfill a promise to her son, John and his grandfather. She is widowed and does not believe in love anymore. Of course the sparks litterally explode and they do give in -- no self control. I will say that the investigation into the brother's fathers' murder lead us into many twists that were unexpected. I had one vague thought but didn't make a complete connection to the villian. This, HER HERO is an excellent mystery although the protestations of love seem a bit stilted. A most excellent read. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --M ------ these are a neat set of brothers.

Rating: Summary: Another Winner From Thurlo Review: This book and its predecessor, "Her Destiny," are two of Thurlo's finest Intrigues. Although the beginning is a little awkward with a lot of back story, it was no time before I couldn't stop turning the pages. The hero's father has been murdered, and he's the prime suspect. The heroine needs him to help her save her former father-in-law's life by performing a chant that only he knows, which means she's forced to stick around and help him clear his name. Of course, the sparks begin to fly and the tension surrounding the mystery continues to build to an almost palpable level. Not too many stories can be truly satisfying as both a romance and a mystery, but Thurlo doesn't have any problems pulling it off. A great story that's not to be missed.
