Summary: Romance At It's Best
Review: I just finished reading this book and cannot say enough about how good it is. It kept me enthralled from the first page to the last. It is set in Superior, Wisconsin at the western tip of Lake Superior--my hometown. I bought it because it is the first in a series set right here in Superior and I'm glad I did! There wasn't a lot of history in this book, because there simply wasn't much happening in Superior in 1850, when the book is set. There was some history though, and the description of the area they way it appeared back then was wonderful. It was so fun to read historical fact seen through the eyes of fictional characters. In my book, plan history is boring. Put it in the form of a story though -- a GOOD story -- and I'll read them forever. And a good story is what "Deception" is. If you like romance and history, then this book is for you. I can't wait for the next book in the "Gitchee Gumee" series and plan to collect them all!

Review: This is perhaps the most entertaining, fast reading book written about a time when women were treated as property. Samantha's secret is thought provoking.
I experienced humor, history, romance, mystery, fear for ones life, courage, loyalty, and all around excitement.
I could compare my experience to reading Cenntenial as I
started my journey with the fantastic characters in Deception.
It never got boring. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Everything was described in a terrific way making it easy to visualize the characters, their clothing, the
land and all their surroundings.
I was actually brought through different emotions throughout this book. It was truelly enjoyable and I can't wait for the next book in the Saga.
