Rating: Summary: 'COMING HOME' IS GREAT! Review: The book is great! I enjoyed reading it very much. The beginning and the end of the book has a scene that I visualized as an elegant funeral scene in a film and I imagined the world-renowned virtuoso Josh Bell in "Red Violin" as the perfect choice for the role of Michael Byron from Amapola's book. Amapola is not only a truly gifted writer but a very passionate one. I'm amazed at how precise and vivid she describes everything, be it a dress, a scenic view of a place or an emotion. For me this is the number one ingredient in excellent writing and she has it! I have. I hope Amapola continues utilizing her gift of passion and imagination in her writing. I am hoping that Amapola will write some more novels and get to the right channels to market them. What a wonderful story she has written. I am hoping it will end up on the big screen someday.
Rating: Summary: Author Anapola has a unique perspective Review: When the story started I thought the perspective came from Charity's mother Clara. Her life story could be a good prequel or sequel. Very interesting women. Then after the first chapter I realized that I was reading about Charity, a little girl I saw grow up befor my eyes as I breezed through the pages quickly. Then I could not put the book down. My only negative comment? The book is too short at 222 pages. I read Olivia Goldsmith who can go crazy almost close to 500 pages in one of her novels. Maybe author Amapola can make her stories longer. It is good too because I finished the book very quickly.
Rating: Summary: Two thumbs up (or more?) Review: Within the first few pages I knew that Charity Ashlyn had the kind of strong character that would make me flip from page to page as fast as I could. I couldn't put the book down. I just kept reading and reading and reading. The author, a POD or print on demand author named AMAPOLA is in the tradition of the Jacqueline Susann, Judith Krantz and Jackie Collins but slightly milder. Miss Amapola simply knows how to tell a good story. I found myself thinking about the story a lot, and have picked up the book to review some chapters. It brought back memories of my reading when I was younger, when reading a book was pure entertainment and there were no computers to distract me. A most refreshing book. Two thumbs up! Someone get this on the Hollywood screen fast! Amapola, get a screenplay on this quickly. Hugh Jackman would be the perfect Michael Byron. Charity Ashlyn brings to mind the young Michelle Pfeiffer.
