Rating: Summary: A Fun Romance Review: After finding her finance with her best friend Gina runs away and ends up at the Chesterfield Hotel. She sees a ghost in her room who asks for her help. And there is where the fun begins. After finding a hope chest she is sent back in time. Trying to fit in and change Drake's fate is only part of the fun of this book. I am looking forward to the rest of the Series there are five books in all.
Rating: Summary: Great Time-Travel Review: Drake and Gina's story is a really fun time travel, and part of a great series. Gina is, thank heavens, a modern woman who doesn't get stuck in some of the more tired cliches of the past, and Drake isn't one of those alpha heroes that you want to bop over the head. I love how it's his ghost that draws Gina back into the past, too. Why can't *I* check into hotel rooms like that? I highly recommend ENCHANTMENT, and the whole Hope Chest series.
Rating: Summary: Magical and enchanting -- Very highly recommended Review: Gina Charles sold her dog training business, sublet her apartment, and cut all ties to her former life so she could marry the man of her dreams. Then, the day before the wedding, at the rehearsal with the entire wedding party as witness, she found her fiancé and her maid of honor making like minks in the back seat of the limo. Worse, bad things always come in threes. First the wedding fiasco. Then she finds a ghost in her room when she escapes to the solitude of a Hope Springs, Virginia at a luxurious Victorian hotel. But the third bad thing is a doozy when she goes back in time!Drake Maton finds the afterlife tedious. Still lingering in Hope Springs, no one until Gina comes along can see him, so she must be the key to ending one hundred and sixteen years of limbo. Drake convinces Gina to accompany him to the sight of his death, where they discover a hope chest among the moldering remains of the Chesterfield hotel. Inside the chest are a broken neck chain, a pair of severed handcuffs, a sheriff's badge, and a dented brass nameplate. When Gina picks up an old dueling pistol, blackened by fire with the grip half melted, something about it intrigued her. Before she can put the pistol down, she felt light-headed. When she awakens, Gina finds herself surrounded by women in bustles in the year 1885. The fashions are abysmal, the demands upon women sexist, and opportunities for return to the year 2001 nonexistent. And now she's got to convince the very alive Drake that he's in danger. ENCHANTMENT combines the best of time travel with superb romantic elements with enchanting results. Intrigue, danger, and a magic hope chest bring together two strong willed, volatile characters with delightful results. This whimsical tale is one of the most convincing time travel romances I've yet to encounter, coming very highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: This was a great story and actually reading 4th now Review: I picked up this book and devoured it on a 3 day trip (flight attendant). I bought the other 3 that are also out in this series and am reading the 4th now. I can't wait for the 5th installment to come out this month. I will be sad when it is over though. If you haven't read any of these hope chest books yet. Do yourself a favor and pick them up they are great.

Rating: Summary: Great Time Travel! Review: I really enjoyed the quirky, liberated, modern, intelligent heroine in this novel. The hero is a nice contrast to her upbeat personality, and together they make a great romantic couple. More, please!
Rating: Summary: Definitely enchanting! Review: This is the first book in the Hope Chest series and I found it fun, with a realistic heroine, not like the "Walk on me, it's okay!" wimps in the books that came out in the 70s or 80s. Brains are sexy and Gina Charles is definitely smart, smart-alecky and resourceful as well as adaptable when she finds herself thrown back in time. Drake Manton is equally as sexy as a mesmerist who knows his talents are far more useful as theraputic methods than parlor tricks. The characters were true to their individual times (21st century woman and ninetheenth century man) and the hotel was a wonderful main setting as well as a neat time travel element. Don't look for an old-fashioned romance here--it's fresh, new, and entertaining!
Rating: Summary: enjoyable book 1st in a series Review: This is the first book in the Hope Chest series. I had read the 3rd book, "Grand Design" first before I found out it was a series. I really enjoy these books. They have excitment, mystery, passion and humor. All the must have ingredients for a great book. The other books in the series are "Fire With Fire" and "Stolen Hearts" There is a fifth book but I don't have that title as of yet. This story starts off in modern day with our heroine, Gina running away to nurse her wounds after she discovers her fiance making love to her best friend on the eve of her wedding. She ends up in a town called Hope Springs. There she meets our hero or at least his ghost. Drake Manton died in 1885 but is somehow haunting the small hotel she's in. She is the only person who can see him. He has no idea how he died and asks for her help. When they discover that he died in a fire at the historic Chesterfield Hotel they go to the ruins only to find a chest filled with several items. When gina picks up the melted gun she is transported back to 1885. She has to make a living in the past and unlock the mystery of Drakes death and keep him from dying and she can go back to her own time. The thing is that she really falls for Drake and he for her so the questing is will she go if she gets the chance? I really enjoyed the suspence of finding out. I look forward to other books in this series and other by this author.
