Rating: Summary: Fear Familiar Series MEOW! Review: FAMILAR FIRE - Caroline BurnesBurning, scorching, searing heat. That's what new sheriff Kate McArdle felt every time she encountered Silver City's fire chief, Jake Johnson. Which was often, since a rash of arsons was forcing them to work together. Desperate to identify the arsonist, Kate had even hired a crime-solving cat. Trouble was, far more than the cat's name was Familiar. Kate and Jake shared a sizzling past -- one from which Kate had fled years ago. But now, like a moth to a flame, she'd come home to a man who'd once chosen a ranch over her. To a man she still loved. And to a man who was not only the fire chief, but Kate's chief suspect.
Rating: Summary: Funny, Romantic, and Action-Packed Review: The ninth "Fear Familiar" book is a great addition to the Familiar saga, giving a much-needed boost to a series that was starting to get stale. Burnes packs an awful lot of plot into 250 pages without skimping on any of the romance, mystery, or humor. It's a touching story of lovers reunited, with a heroine you can really sympathize with because of her family history, and a clever whodunit. The first "Familiar" book I've enjoyed in quite some time. I would recommend it for anyone.
