Rating: Summary: Be Encouraged Review: Although the other reviews that I've read are harsh, I think that they are intended to be constructive criticism. I agree with some of what they said, however I wanted to leave a word of encouragement to this new author. Congratulations on your first novel. I'm sure writing a book is no small chore and it's hard to get it perfect the first time. On a positive note though, I do want to say that I think your front cover design is unique, your title is catchy and the concept of your story is good. I gave you a star for each of those achievements. Hire an editing team to smooth out the rough edges and it would be a better read.
Rating: Summary: Two words....Barn Fire Review: Every single copy of this book needs to be put into one big stack and burned! This is a major rip off. Instead of charging people for this book, the book stores need to pay us to take it off their hands. It's hard to give a sensible review of this novel because the novel makes no sense at all. This is terrible and the author needs to take the advice of her friend who left the note suggesting that she gets an editor. I've got an even better idea. Don't stop at one. Get two or three editors. This needs the work of more than one professional. Maybe the next book will be better 'cause this one's a mutha!
Rating: Summary: An entertaining book Review: I can't blame anybody for this mistake. I'd read the reviews, seen the red flashing lights and heard the warnings. But I just had to experience it for myself. I was so sure that it couldn't be as bad as they said. I was wrong and I have no one to blame but me and my stupid curiousity. I'd have to agree with all of the other feedbacks given except the three star sympathy voter. In all honesty, this book is poorly written and the author ought to sue her editor if she had one. Even the book stores that carry this one should be sued. Don't they read and analyze stuff before stocking it on their shelves? How'd this one get past security? I love reading love stories and I'll even read a little erotic smut every now and then. But this isn't even read-worthy smut. Another four-letter "s" word comes to mind though. Furthermore, the sexual innuendos are awful and they don't stimulate the imagination at all. Some are even sickening. There's one reference to the leading woman, Monica, using a chicken bone as a toddler to get off sexually on!! No more Chick-Fila for me! At the end, the author asks the reader whether we think Monica and Case, the leading man, should get together in a permanent relationship? I think one of them should buy a gun and commit murder-suicide so that the author can't do a sequel to this horrible novel.

Rating: Summary: Proof that anything can go to print if you can pay for it. Review: I gave this book 1 star because negatives aren't an option. I bought this book from the author at a book signing during a recent visit to Atlanta. To say this is the worst book I've read in my entire life is not an overstatement. It really is. The story is hard to read because the sentences are choppy and extremely underdeveloped. I know ten year olds who express themselves in more detail than this. There aren't even any conversations between the main characters who are lovers/best friends. The whole book is a narrative that's very hard to follow because of the thought flow. This book definitely gives self-published authors a bad name. I always try to help out African American authors because if you don't support your own...then who will? But this definitely isn't worth purchasing. The entire novel is less than 80 pages long (some of the chapters are only 2 pages long) and certainly not worth the $15 that it sells for. This is no direct reflection on Stephanie. She seems to be a sweet young lady, but she should definitely try another profession. I know my review sounds over-dramatic, but if you don't believe me, buy the book. It'll make the author feel better and you can always consider the wasted money a learning experience.
Rating: Summary: In the name of friendship.... Review: I met Stephanie (author) several months ago and had the pleasure of receiving a copy of her book. You have read the negative reviews, which I know were very hurtful to the author. So in the name of friendship and sistahhood, I am writing my review. Stephanie, as I shared with you before, your story line is something you believe in and I know that it would have been better received, had you gotten the book edited professionally. We live and learn and I know you've learned a great lesson in having your 1st book printed. Please don't allow this to discourage you from doing something you have a passion for. Take the criticism constructively and do what you need to do to let "readers" know that you care about their feedback. I will support you as I have shared with you before and I am sure many others will as well. Tell your story....and if I can do anything to assist, you......you know how to find me.

Rating: Summary: I just want to help, if I can.............. Review: I recently read most of this newly released novel-Intimacy Between Friends. I must commend the author for having the courage to follow her dream; however, I must also express my dissatisfaction with the book for the following reasons:-Grammatical errors. -Numerous typos. -Extremely weak development of all characters. -What was her goal in writing the book? Are the readers supposed to relate/absorb themselves/fantasize about the characters? -No "quoted" dialogue between characters. -No real transition from chapter to chapter. I am no expert in this field by any means but, did the author utilize "writers' help manuals" to assist her with her writing? Did she dialogue with other writers to get a feel for "real" feedback from readers? Did she have someone who could have objectively critiqued & edited her writing? Good luck my sister! I look forward to seeing your new and improved writing materials in the very near future.
Rating: Summary: An entertaining book Review: This is a story of two friends who get together to satisfy one another's sexual needs when they're not in relationships with others. It's plain to see to everyone except themselves that they really loved each other and not the other people that they dated. The book kept me entertained and I kept reading it to see what would happen next to place Case and Monica in each other's bedroom. This is definitely a book for a mature audience. Although there are a lot of sex scenes in here, I didn't find it to be too nasty. Nice job, Steph.
