Summary: A Book That I'll Keep.
Review: Although this is the 1st Sandra BROWN novel that I've ever read, I like it a lot. The first 1 to 2 chapters might be a bit stale and ordinary, but when it got to the plot part, it got very interesting. It has actions; it has some small romance, and most importantly, a good story line making it more enticing and rich to read. I literally stayed up late attempting to finish the book before I yielded to my sleepiness. I am quite surprised that a woman author could write an action oriented book that comes out well like FAT TUESDAY. I am definitely looking forward to her next novel.

Summary: Entertaining Read but Not a Lot of Substance
Review: This book was given to me by an elderly friend. She knows I enjoy police mysteries. When I saw it was written by Sandra Brown, I became skeptical. She is a well known romance writer, and I do NOT enjoy romances. My friend assured me that it was more of a mystery than a romance, and since I was going on vacation I decided to take and give it a try. In all fairness, much of the book tries to deviate from being a tradional romance. The male lead, Burke Basile, is not a muscle bound bad boy. He is actually a rather tragic figure, having lost his partner in a shooting he felt responsible for. His marriage is destroyed, and he decides with nothing to lose, he will destroy those who were utlimately responsible for his partner's death, and Burke's downfall. The female lead, Remy Duvall, is no bimbo either. She is intelligent, charming and strong. Probably the most likable character in the book is Dredd, the kind but curmudgeonly hermet who makes his home in the bayou. His connection to Basile becomes known in the book. I won't ruin it for the potential reader here. There is a lot of action and suspense, but unfortunately, the story falls into the same predictability that so many of this genre do. Things resolve themselves through umprobable circumstances, all too neatly put together. Nonetheless, for a light and fast read, this is enjoyable. Ms. Brown cannot quite leave her romance roots behind, and perhaps she shouldn't. It is, after all, her strong suit. The plot is clever, Pinky Duvall is a deliciously nasty bad guy, and all in all, it makes for an entertaining weekend read. It has not, however, changed my mind about romances!

Review: I felt compelled to write a review if it stops just one person from buying this book. Even after reading some of the less than complimentary reviews, I still went out and purchased it. Stupid stupid stupid. It was sooo boring, I could barely finish it. The herone was unlikable, the hero even less so. I liked Pinkie(the villain) more than both of them combined. If you want to have something to line your birdcage with, buy this book.If you are looking for a good read, keep looking.

Summary: Suspenceful, thriller ending. Not enough romance.
Review: I have read Sandra Brown since day 1. I can see that this book may appeal to a broader audience than previous romance novels. This story has everything; intrigue, sex, suspense, violence, love, and a great ending. Anyone, male or female, over the age of 16 will find this book hard to put down. Attention to detail in the New Orleans setting is wonderful. As always, her characters have been brought to life and it's hard to let them go or to forget them when the book is finished. Action is ongoing and makes this a real page turner. Only thing I find lacking is some 'old fashion' Sandra Brown romance

Summary: Great story but lukewarm romance
Review: Burke Basile is a man on a mission -- to kill the white collar criminal who's behind the death of his partner. He kidnaps the man's wife to lure out the crook, and falls in love with her...Herein lies the problem... how and WHY does he fall in love? The criminal justice aspect of this story is solid, but the romance is quick, flawed and unbelievable. Burke's got no reason to love her, other than her good looks. Expect a good plot, and ignore the attempt at making this a ROMANTIC suspense. The overall story is good.

Summary: she's done it again
Review: I don't think I have ever been disappointed in any of her mystery books. This one was a little different in that the main character was a man rather than a woman. He, Burke Basil, is a cop who accidently shot and killed his partner. He wants to get the man, Pinkie Duval, who he thinks has been behind many of the crimes being perpetrated in his area. Pinkie has been too clever to get caught by normal means, so Burke decides to go after him in an unconventional manner. He quits his job and decides to go after the one thing he thinks will upset Pinkie the most, Pinkie's wife, Remy. He kidnaps Remy, and then things really get cooking. The story keeps you interested til the last page.

Summary: A Big Disappointment
Review: What a disappointment this was. The mystery was obvious and the romance was lukewarm and unbelievable. I mean, can any reader tell me why Burke falls for Remy from the get-go? I'll answer my own question: her unbelievable good looks. We never really get to know Remy as a heroine (perhaps because, unusually, most of the novel was from the hero's perspective). Usually, the heroine has something more than good looks to attract the hero and earn the reader's respect; I didn't feel as if Brown really developed this character and that made the romance part of this book lukewarm.

Summary: Poor writing embarrasses me when I read it.
Review: I'm somewhat new to reading crime novels, but I know there are better writers out there. FT's plot & characters are interesting and well-developed, but Brown's writing is full of cliche and overused metaphors. I couldn't loose myself in the well-crafted story because I was embarrassed for the author. I will likely try another of Brown's novels before I give up on her, but I can't take much more like this one.

Summary: sex and violence and revenge
Review: If you like a very fast read involving sex,violence and revenge, you'll love Fat Tuesday.The protagonists are a cop who accidently killed his partner,a VERY crooked lawyer,a beautiful,dominated wife and a whore with a heart of gold, then you'll love this book.It's a 2 day read-very pacy and quite exciting,written in a journalists quick style and very readable.

Summary: Pretty interesting like watching tv in my head
Review: I like it. I can't put it down to do my homework. I like the part about Remy Duvall and her powerful rich husband even though he is a bad-ass, and I think it reads well. Fast, Interesting
although I don't belived some of it would ever happen in real life. And if it could then I like being convinced that it could.
