Summary: Did he kill her sister?
Review: Minerva travels into the north of New Zealand to find out why her step-sister Stella killed herself. She isn't exactly helped by Stella's widower, Nick Peveril, who plays the truth very close to his (broad) chest. The story progresses along nicely, with Minerva's investigations going in parallel with her developing relationship with Nick until she gets out of her depth suddenly with both; the truth about Stella effectively killing off what was turning into the love of her life. Nick and Minerva both have some readjusting to do and how they do this and resolve their relationship completes the story.
