Summary: This reads more like a work in progress
Review: In my opionion, the author failed on two counts: character development and erotic tone. The characters are vacuous and shallow, making it very hard to identify with them or sympathize with them. In fact, I found myself disliking the two main female characters very much. And the sex scenes are as underdeveloped as the characters. There is not enough description, both of the physical action taking place and the emotional/mental activity that accompanies sex.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Sexy Story For Adults, Not a Romance Novel
Review: Russell developed her characters very well. The novel was fast paced and sexually explicit just like Black Lace Novels should be. For a Black Lace novel, it was actually quite romantic.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A lot of sex, but who cares?
Review: This is the first book of the Black Lace series that I've read and I was disappointed in it. The author did not develop the characters enough for me to be concerned with any of their lives. The storyline was thin and weak. I had to struggle to finish the book. The love scenes were rushed, uninventive and just not all that interesting. I haven't given up on the series and have a couple of books that I intend to read this summer. Let's hope that they're better written than this one.
