Summary: Welcome back, Cassie Miles
Review: Cassie Miles' introduction to the "Captive Hearts" series is a nice balance of mystery and emotion sure to add sizzle to a summer night. Taking not one, but two, overused plot staples (amnesia and a secret baby), Ms. Miles delivers a story that is still fresh and involving. David and Amanda became fully-developed, engaging characters even while being hurtled from one dangerous situation to the next, and their reunion, while not overwhelmingly romantic, is still satisfying. I can't say anything without giving it away, but I did like how the Big Confrontation at the end was handled. Best of all, every one of my doubts and questions (If Amanda knew David was going to be a doctor, how did she justify her belief that he was still irresponsible?) were answered in a satisfying way. If the other two books (His to Protect and The Safe Hostage) are as good as this one, we should be in for a treat.
