Summary: Linda Howard can't write a bad book.
Review: Another typical Linda Howard winner. Fast-paced action, breathless romance, it's one of those "I wish I was her" kind of stories. A definite must-read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Diamond Bay is passionate, sexy read.
Review: Diamond Bay by Linda Howard unites together Kell Sabin previously from Midnight Rainbow and Rachel Jones and continues her legacy of crafting romance with heartmelting heroes and heroines. Kell is unexpectedly attacked by the villains on the high sea and is swept to the Diamond Bay where Rachel found him and nursed him back to health. Linda Howard weaves an intricate and emotional tale when the sexy Kell falls in love with Rachel but takes rein on his passion for fear of Rachel's safety. His job is dangerous - and he knows it, and soon after his enemies are on the chase for him...

Diamond Bay is a passionate read but even more stirring in the emotions it awakens. It explores Rachel's vulnerabilites, Kell's undying love for her in the line of duty which altogether climaxes in the suspenseful end when enemies hunt them down. Realism aside, this book is definitely a keeper for romantic fanatics - who likes sexy, gorgeous heros and an abiding passion. Out of the Silhouette collection, this is Ms. Howard at her best and certainly jewelled fun and passion.

Summary: Okay, would make a good read when there's nothing else.
Review: Didn't care that much for this Linda Howard book. It's a reprint from a long time ago - did she just dig it up and revise to make a buck? I can't recommend this but I can recommend The Color of Revenge - spicy and hot.

Summary: Another great book by Linda Howard!
Review: Having read the trilogy - White Lies, Midnight Rainbow and Diamond Bay - backwards I can honestly say that this one is my favorite! The plot is original, the characters are great (it was wonderful to finally get a handle on Kell Sabin), and it's superbly written. I'd have to say that this is a must read for any Linda Howard fan or for anyone who loves a great love story!

Summary: A re-issue that's showing its age!
Review: I liked it because the woman wasn't an heiress or a princess or a victim or a prostitute. She was a loner who taught classes, wrote, grew her own vegetable garden and enjoyed the outdoors. She had a life, before the guy came along. I thought it was disappointing that she sort of just fell apart and "ceased to care" about her life after he left, but I guess love can do that to people at times. I just liked her. He was okay. A little stereotypical at times. But the action was good. He was a spy running from killers and she helped protect him. It's worth a read and it doesn't lose your attention like most romance books.

Summary: What do you mean it was written over 15 years ago???
Review: I love Linda's later books, but why most publishers "rethread" books such as this one.

This book, as many being republished, shows its age. Written when the writer was still evolving or when the fashion of the time was the masterful rich man and the -sometimes not so- submissive damsel, who does not know she is in trouble (mostly from him) overcome all obstacles and live happily ever after. Sometimes with a few pages written to fill up the the book.

When I see, and sometimes buy a book, that I read 15 or 20 years ago, I am convinced, each time more and more, that such books should be labeled as republished or at the very list the original date of copyright should be clearly shown in the cover as in "Published in 1979 by XYZ publisher."

Reprints of books help the author because people who like their books want to read more, Then again, some of us become overly cautious and don't buy the book until we stand at the store and read its beginning, middle, and end. And what we end up with is the that the thrill is gone.

Summary: Pretty good book
Review: I read this a while ago, but still remember really liking it. It is a quick read with likeable characters.

Summary: Truly Enjoyable
Review: It was really fun to be able to read one of my favorite author's early book. Diamond Bay is just a few of Linda Howard's early books that I manage to have. I enjoy this story very much. A little disappointed because it's not thick enough *smile*.

I agree with one of the reviewer that Kell Sabin is probably the core of characters like John Medina. A shadowy man. I just hope that Silhouette/Mira will re-published Midnight Rainbow and White Lies so a fan like me, who live in Indonesia, can buy it.

Summary: Diamond Bay
Review: Just when you think you've found the ultimate romance in Linda Howard's Midnight Rainbow, along comes Diamond Bay. Romantic novels just don't get any better than this. Kell Sabin is the ultimate sexy hero and Rachael suits him perfectly. I read this one five times in a row before I could put it down! If you haven't read it and can still find a copy- run, do not walk!! I only hope Ms. Howard's future books contain half of the excitement and romance of Diamond Bay and Midnight Rainbow. This is romantic fiction at it's very best.

Summary: Book two of four
Review: Linda Howard's early works are some of the best series titles Shillouette ever published. Diamond bay (Kell Sabine's story)is the second in a four book thread that started with Midnight Rainbow, and continues with White Lies and Heartbreaker. Sabine is the thread that binds all four stories together. I think Kell Sabine was the genesis for the character of John Medina in the later works Kill and Tell and All the Queen's Men. A shadowy figure whom no one ever really knows, he must give up his natural caution and distrust to open himself to that one special woman. I found Sabine easier to like than Medina, but still, he is one of Ms Howard's harder to love creations. If you can, get all four books and enjoy. I liked them as well as, if not more than the Mackenzie saga.
