Summary: Read this book!
Review: Great story of history and love! I normally don't read historical romances, but this one caught my eye and was definitely worth the time. It is a real page turner and I couldn't put it down. Ms. Davidson's lavish descriptions of the period and the historical references provided a powerful setting for the feuding lovers, David and Riley. I felt like I knew these characters, and I was anxious to see how they'd handle the obstacles they kept running into. The story is imaginative and engrossing. This is Ms. Davidson's first book, and I look forward to the next one!

Summary: Couldn't Put it Down!!
Review: I'm not an avid reader of historical romance but I picked this book up thinking it would be a good easy read for the summer. What a surprise I had coming! Heart of A Warrior is much more than just another historical romance novel. I became engrossed in Ms. Davidson's imagery of 13th century England, and her characters of David D'Aubere and Riley Snowden. What was to be just a simple pick it up and put it down summer read became a passion as I read every page with relish. I can't find any other books by her! I can only hope she will write more and quickly!!

Summary: Couldn't Put it Down!!
Review: In 1460, the Earl of Cornwich learns his son died on the battlefield. Stunned by his loss, his Queen informs him that his daughter will marry the landless but loyal Earl David D'Aubere. Like all the lesser lords, David is caught between sides during the War of the Roses. However, his loyalty has paid off as he gains the hand of Lady Jeanette, Cornwich's daughter and an estate.

However, instead of a hero's welcome at Cornwich Castle, he finds a York supporter, Lady Riley Snowden poised to kill him, but he makes her his prisoner. When he meets his wife by proxy David finds the teenager to have the mind of an infant and a young girl's body. Her father insists David insure she become pregnant so that Cornwich blood flows in future generations as no other child exists. David offers Riley her freedom if she willingly gives birth to his child and leaves it with him. Neither one realized that initial attraction will flame into love.

HEART OF A WARRIOR is an exciting historical romance that centers on star-crossed lovers caught between the Lancaster-York war and dangerous conspiracies to control the throne. The story line blends history inside a powerful period piece filled with action and romance. David is a wonderful character who early on in the plot obtains his life goal only to learn the cost. Riley is heroic as she adheres to her beliefs even when love enters her heart. Betty Davidson provides sub-genre fans with a powerful romantic look at a pivotal moment in Anglo history.

Summary: Read this book!
Review: Well I must say I bought this book for two reasons. First the Cover. Oh my what a hunk! The Second was the story. I liked it but was left wanting a bit more.
The story takes place in late 1460 and early 1461 in England. The hero The earl of Lynchburg(David) is queen Margaret of Anjou, King Henry the VI's wife, champion. He has won many a battle for her and now is waiting to be rewarded with land. She marries him off by proxy to Lady Jeanette, the Earl of Cornwich's daughter. When he arrives at his new home he finds that Jeanette can never be a wife to him but he is trapped and must have an heir in one years time. This is where the heroine comes in. Her name is Riley and she is the daughter of the slain Lord Snowden, who was killed because he fought for the Yorkist. She is masquerading as a servant and went sent to the new masters room to attend to him she tries to kill him. He is very attracted to her as she is to him. He places her in the dungeon but then thinks up a plan in which she can live and he can enjoy her. She will have his child and he will present it as his wife's. She agrees to this to live and is determined to hate Lynchburg. Only she finds herself falling in love with him. He also is falling for her even though everything seems to be trying to tear them apart from each other. The love scenes are very hot, almost burned the pages. I would have liked for a bit more dialog between the two main characters. The seemed to fall for each other on pure attraction rather without much conversation. I would still recommend this book and I look forward to others by this author.
