Summary: Living Nightmares
Review: Bless Saunderson is a troubled woman haunted by dreams of a baby and a dark stranger. The stranger fills her days and nights with thoughts of lust, love, and passion. The dreams are so real, the residue from their lovemaking lingers after she awakens. The strangest sensation for Bless is, even though she has never physically met this man before, she feels as though there is some sort of connection between them. She is overtaken by a dreadful sense of foreboding, and knows it's time to leave the tiny town of Red Creek, GA and head to the metropolis that is Atlanta. She fears something is wrong with her callous and mean-spirited sister. What Bless discovers once she arrives in Atlanta will shake the core of her spirit.

Rick Jensen, a tough Atlanta cop,is in search of his missing brother, and the search places him in the path of Bless, but it is surrounded by unnatural spirits. Bless and Rick seem drawn to one another, in a surreal way and the passion they share is invigorating and stimulating. In spite of the demonic aura surrounding their persons, they know the power of love and God's grace can conquer anything.

Can Rick and Bless endure? Will good conquer evil? Can love survive demonic forces? Monica Jackson answers these questions and more in her latest novel IN MY DREAMS. This is the most unique Contemporary Romance I have ever read. The presence of evil spirits and vivid dreams made this story a page turner. As I read this story I wondered how bad people could be, but at the same time the raw determination and the pursuit of what's right made me believe that God would always protect us.

Summary: No A Great Read
Review: I did not like the book at all. I love Monica Jackson, but this book was off. I was scared to go to sleep! This was not a love story, it was a horror story! I was attracted to the book because it had a full-figured lead character. I was truly disappointed in this book.

Summary: Just the right amount of horror and romance!
Review: I have to admit, most times I am a genre purist. I like my romance, sci-fi/speculative fiction, and mystery/suspense novels to remain separate but equal. But every once and a while an author comes along and blends two of my favorite genres together with such skill and precision that I put my desire for purity of genre behind and go along for the ride. Monica Jackson is one such author and In My Dreams is one hell of a book. I could not put it down. It gripped me from beginning to end. What I appreciated most about the novel is the way she weaved the history of Africans in America, as well as the cultural elements common to that history and legacy to provide the back drop for a special family of women. The way these women continually relived history reminded me of certain tropes in the Literary fiction of Toni Morrison and Gayle Jones. But of course this is a romance, and the love scenes are hot-hot-hot. And the horror elements will scare the faint of heart. But In My Dreams is worth the temporary fright and will leave readers satisfied.
