Rating: Summary: An excellent story, but not-so-excellent writing. Review: "Fire and Ice" tells an exciting story about love, revenge and piracy in the early nineteenth century. Ms. Hart researched the time period well, making her descriptions credible and interesting. The details about square-rigged ships are especially impressive. The story, centering around a young Irish lady and her forced marriage, was enjoyable and exciting; there are swordfights and battle scenes to complement the torrid romance between Reed and Kathleen. I loved this book. The characters are strong and the story exciting. I've already read it three times! The only thing holding back the novel is the sometimes poor writing of Ms. Hart. She tells a great story, but some of the dialogue is inappropriate. In spite of this, "Fire and Ice" is a great read. There is also a fabulous squel, "Ashes and Ecstacy" that is simply heart wrenching. I strongly recommend both books.
Rating: Summary: All-Time Favorite! Review: Fire and Ice is the best book I've ever had the privledge to read! I read it once when I was younger, and I lost the book. I have looked for it in the almost five years since. I don't have the book now, but I plan on ordering it the moment new stock comes in! The strength and courage of Kathleen is heart-warming. It makes me glad to know that a couple as confused as Kathleen and Reed can come together for a happy ending!
Rating: Summary: A fantastic, enjoyable read that sticks with you... Review: I first read this novel years ago, and the characters have stayed with me since that first read. I've lost the book and repurchased it three times now, to keep it in my library. Reed and Kathleen are a terrific couple. Kathleen was a fantastic heroine - definitely not your run of the mill damsel in distress. She's so spunky and lively and interesting to follow, you'll end up loving her. LOL I was thoroughly excited to find the sequel to this novel years later. A great escape read.

Rating: Summary: Enjoyable, but utterly predictable Review: I think that this book was not the best that I have read. I don't like how Kat let Reed tell her that she was his and only his while he was letting his ex-flame hang all over him and expected his wife to not over react. I think Kat needed to be a little more independent and not take that kind of stuff. She should have left when he took Rosita to the fiesta and left her home. She should have just went to her aunts and got a divorce. I think this book could have been better. I hate seeing how the woman are to obey and deal with whatever there husbands do, they need to make these woman stronger..and stand up for themselves.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Amazing! Review: This book was the first Catherine Hart novel I've ever read. She had a wonderful blend of true character development, fantasy, and romance. I was hard pressed to put the book down. I found I just couldn't concentrate on much else until I finished it! haha! If you're looking for a book that will hold your attention and captivate your imagination this is it!! Don't pass it up! It's one of those books you'll want to read again and always keep in your collection as a constant recommendation to others. Enjoy! :)
Rating: Summary: A must read Review: This was my third Catherine Hart book and as usual I couldn't put it down. I loved the story between the dashing Captain Reed Taylor and the spirited Kathleen. I loved their fiery and exciting relationship. The relationship between Reed and "Emerald" also added a thrilling twist to the story. However, I was disturbed after Reed's night of passion with Emerald. As always it all worked out in the end. Now it's time to read the sequel, Ashes and Ecstacy.
