Summary: The drama continues
Review: I enjoyed this novel. What's interesting is, I hated my mother-in-law, she hated hers, my daughter-in-law hates me, and her daughter-in-law will probably hate her too. The drama continues.

Summary: Misery loves company
Review: I hate to admit it, but I'm glad to see that others experience the same nonsense that I endure. This book should be a great discussion piece for the upcoming holidays. Lots of folks will be checking themselves. I feel this book was needed. Some toes will get stepped on, but oh, well! It's interesting that my book club members that experience "in-law drama" loved the book, while the members that didn't experience "in-law drama" in their lives didn't get into it as much.

Summary: Wake up call--OUCH!
Review: I'm glad I read this novel. I needed a wake up call. I'm a bit too involved in my children's lives. It's hard to let go, but I will. (I don't want no book written about ME). It's funny how we eventually turn into out mothers-in-law.

Summary: This hits home
Review: I'm glad that I went ahead and read it. I was a bit discouraged after I read a poor review that a reader gave it. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Different strokes for different folks. Anyone who doesn't think this book is funny needs to check their pulse. It's a book about bonding, dreaming, and overcoming obstacles. It's deep. What I found great about this book is that one of my book club members (who admitted that she's a typical mother-in-law) decided she needs to back off a bit from her son's life. When a book encourages one to improve, it's a godsend. I'm glad this book was published. So many folks gripe about their in-laws. Now there's a book out there that everyone can read and check themselves. I hope to read more novels from this author. The only other book that she published is A Guide to the Scriptures which is awesome if anyone wants to know what the Word of God says on topics such as prosperity, safety, wisdom, peace, healing--even homosexuality!

Summary: Realistic DRAMA Burns The Pages Up!
Review: In-Law Drama is told from Traci's point of view. She has married into the Jenkins family and they are the in-laws from the deep, dark, pits of hell. Her husband Paul is blind to the facts. He is a happy-go-lucky sort of guy who appears to see the glass as full at all times.

The reader will rip with laughter from the humorous, yet realistic drama. The Jenkins clan consist of Elvira the matriach minus the wicked broom, Junebug the patriach, Bertha the perfect sister who loves drama/mess, Mamie the sister who must be the center of attention at all times and Paul. The flawed character traits within these in-laws makes for a lively and entertaining story.

This book had to be conceived from up close, first hand knowledge of people with these character traits. Many women and men will be able to relate to the many incidents in in-law drama. Even though the book is 103 pages, the author delivers a story of substance with NO holds barred. She cuts to the chase. Of course there was enough issues and characters, that if the author wanted...this could have been a 300 page book. Personally, I like the fact that she cut out all the extra fluff of long drawn out descriptions and made it short and sweet.

This is the first novel from the author. I look forward to her future publications. Pass the word about this book. It makes for a lively book club discussion. It also ends with some positive insight into one's self...which shows that we can always take lemons and make lemonade, we can learn from any situation if we are open minded and personal growth comes when we least expect it. It's a real page turner!

Summary: I know these people.
Review: My book club members and I had so much fun reading this novel. We can all relate. If you need a good laugh, get this book and pass it on to others who have the same drama.

Summary: Was this a hint?
Review: My daughter-in-law gave me a copy of this book. I enjoyed reading it. I think she was trying to give me a hint, although she swears she wasn't. I'm guilty of being a bit domineering. I will learn to bite my tongue before my own in-laws write a book about ME. OUCH!

Summary: Loved it!
Review: There was an enormous amount of anger and hatred in those Jenkins women. Their meanness toward Traci was awful. It was knife-hard. Bertha and Mamie needed loving examples of sisterhood, but certainly didn't get it from Elvira. Paul was a boy. Traci needed a man. It touched on a lot of issues. Get it!

Summary: Lots of messages in this bbok.
Review: This book has a lot of substance. It has many messages such as: we teach people how to treat us, we can't change people, you don't have to put up with nonsense, and don't settle for less than you deserve. If you're on the outside looking in, it's funny. If you're the one that's involved in your own "in-law drama", it ain't funny.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Lack of Substance - Not worth the time to read
Review: This book was horrible! It made absolutely no sense, it's not even funny. It opened poorly but I decided to give it a chance anyway (sorry I did). I was all set to sit down and read something that would really keep me laughing...what a disapointment. I can't believe this book was actually published. I want my [money] back.
I gave a "1" rating because I had to put something in for the review to take, however, this book really is a big fat "O".
