Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A humorous look at love, thru the eyes of a criminal...
Review: The title of the book is what caught my eye--Filthy Phil. When I started reading, I couldn't stop. It was one of those books that pull you in and you wonder what will happen next, so you keep reading and reading and before you know it, it's over. Then you want more.

Filthy Phil is one of the best literary characters I've read in a long time. Most seem to lose their hold on their audience, their readers, but this one doesn't. While he's not the narrarator, Ray is, you still want to know more and more about this "thug" and why he loves this woman, Kat, so much. Sure, you're interested in Kat, who's also a quite memorable character and Ray, as the narrarator, but the real reason you read is for Filthy Phil. He's like Gatsy without the past.

All in all, this is oneof the best reads I've read in a while. It kept me hooked, as I said, and kept me wanting more. And when a book can do that, I definitely recommend.
