Rating: Summary: terrific chick lit tale Review: After two years together as the perfect couple, Texan Jack Davis dumps Manhattanite Jane Laine. Before she can rebound from the shock, she makes a horrendous error at work. She ordered the wrong size Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for her boss Dick Reese, owner of Reese's Art Gallery. To punish her for her transgression, the odious Dick exiles Jane by sending her on a barnstorming Art Tour of four cities in under five months. She is to accompany artist Ian Rhys-Fitzsimmons as he has shows in London, Rome, Chicago and Miami.
Jane does not think highly of her companion as they set off to London feeling his fifteen minutes of fame is way too long. However, she is shocked by his consideration starting at Newark Airport and continuing in Europe. Ian knows he loves Jane, but she clings to the belief that he is a con artist shamming the public. As they become acquainted during the whirlwind trek, Jane sees Ian is nothing like the pampered brats who make up the art world. She concludes he and his work are no shams and fears how much she will miss him once their quest ends.
IF ANDY WARHOL HAD A GIRLFRIEND is a terrific chick lit tale because of the pace applied to the blossoming of Jane into a woman in love. The story line is character driven mostly by Jane as she starts out detesting Ian, begins to appreciate his kindness and understanding, and finally falls in love with him, but believes he desires someone else. This novel is a fun to read contemporary romance.

Rating: Summary: An Excellent, Quietly Brilliant Read Review: Don't you love when a book leaves you smiling at the end? I can't say every book does that to me - in fact, very few do - but this novel certainly did. It turned out to be one of the sort that somehow gets under your skin and makes you think for days after reading it.
Meet Jane Laine. She works for the prominent Dick Reese gallery in New York City. At the beginning of our story she has just been dumped unceremoniously by her boyfriend Jack. She enjoys her artsy job, although Dick Reese, the gallery owner, is a complete tyrant, and at least one of her coworkers is catty and annoying. Jane holds a Master's degree in Art and usually is really good at figuring out the meaning behind each artist's piece. That is, until she comes across Ian Rhys-Fitzsimmons. Ian is known as a genius, and his work is highly regarded throughout the art world. When Jane's boss drops the bomb on her that she has to accompany Ian on a five month international art fair tour, Jane is disappointed. How is she going to promote an artist's work she doesn't even "get"? And why now, when she is trying to get her love life started back up?
Thus begins Ian and Jane's tour, which starts in England and continues on through Rome, Chicago, and many other places. Through their time spent, Jane begins to slowly learn just what it is about Ian's work that is so popular. And she begins to wonder if maybe she had someone great in front of her the whole time, but just didn't know it...
This book was a very satisfying read. It's a little difficult to pinpoint exactly what it was about this book that I liked so much. Jane as a main character was great - intelligent, down-to-earth, and funny. Ian was a great supporting character - he was very smart, polite, funny, interesting and a bit eccentric. Jane goes through the typical ups and downs of dating while trying to juggle her career and personal life. The book's plot moves smoothly and doesn't waver. If Andy Warhol Had a Girlfriend simmers with a quiet brilliance and polish that will stay in a reader's mind for days.
Overall, I definitely recommend this novel to all readers who enjoy a superb, feel-good yet realistic book.
Rating: Summary: You really, really laugh and cry! Review: I just adored this heartwarming, hysterically funny and also quite insightful look at one woman's search for happiness and understanding. The characters of Jane, Dick, Ian and the Schnauzers are so much fun to travel around the world with. Only problem is I don't know if I can wait for the sequel to find out what happens next!!
All in all, a fantastic read!
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Must read! Review: If you love Bridget Jones and Sex in the City, this is the book for you! Because this book is so well written it definitely stands out in the chick lit crowd. Jane Laine is a comical character who we can all relate to. She makes you laugh and cry at the same time. What could be better? I loved this book!
Rating: Summary: A grown up girl's romance! Review: If you loved Harlequin romance books as a young girl, this is the grown up girl's version. All the charm, warmth and fun of those "long-ago days" of reading pleasure -- who am I kidding I still read and love them! -- with an added cosmopolitan, sophisticated air. This is the American woman's Bridget Jones.
I couldn't put the book down, couldn't wait to see what happens next, couldn't wait for the characters to fall in love. The author creates characters that are easy to love, fun to hate, and that will spark a chord with readers who will undoubtedly recognize someone they know in the personalities in the book.
This is an author with a great career ahead of her. I definitely think she is going to develop a loyal audience that will fololow her from book-to-book with eager anticipation.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've EVER read!!! Review: This book is amazing. I could not put it down. I loved every detail Alison Pace so beautifully illustrates. Young women everywhere will be able to both relate to and laugh with Jane Laine.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Such fun! Review: This book was such a great read! Once you pick it up, you will not be able to put it down! Jane Laine is a character you can really relate to - she is looking for love, she has a boss she hates and she has an ex from hell - I found myself cheering her on and smiling at every turn. You will love it!
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: This is one of those fantastic books that you can't put down once you start reading. If you're a fan of dogs, art, or love (and, come on, who isn't?) then you're going to adore ANDY WARHOL. Everything about this novel is fantastic. The pacing is awesome, the setting is divine (you get a world-class tour of Europe and the US), and the characters are unique and loveable. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
