Rating: 5 stars
Summary: fabulous police procedural romance
Review: Recently joining the California Law Enforcement Unit, probationary cop Linn Nichols hates her assignment pretending to be Caroline and having phone sex with cocaine importer Rick O'Reilly. Making her even more uncomfortable is the lead agent on this case, Kellen Black, watching her performance. Kellen has been undercover as Dean working on finding criminal evidence to lock Rick away and "Caroline" is his girlfriend.

Caroline goes out on a date with Rick, but Dean shows up displaying jealousy (which the undercover cop admits was easy to do as he desires Linn). Kellen likes the wild side that Linn shows off to Rick though he prefers that be only for him. As he hides his deepest desires for her safety, the two cops working in close proximity fall in love, but first must deal with a dangerous felon before they can explore their feelings.

HIS HOT NUMBER is a fabulous police procedural romance that will hook the audience the moment that "Caroline" intercepts Rick's call to Dean and never lets up until the final altercation occurs. The story line is action-packed with an intriguing triangle, but it is the transformation of "prudish" Linn into sex siren Caroline that makes Shannon Hollis novel a hot number worth reading.
