Rating: Summary: You'll need a cold shower Review: I loved the story, of a female p.i. whose firm wires the wrong house, and she gets a view of her gorgeous new neighbor, instead of the suspect across the street. One of the most sensual romances I've ever read, with a fun and original plot. In some books I skip the sex scenes because they are too bland, crass or ridiculous. I reread the sex scenes in WATCH ME; they are intensely sexy, emotional and believable.
Rating: Summary: Leto's burns the pages in this sexy romp! Review: It is a delight to see talent coming full bloom - and that is what Julie Elizabeth Leto is doing. She is, without doubt, one of the strongest writers in the Harlequin Blaze series. I used to read these regularly, but got away from them because the good writers had moved on and newer writers were just not thrilling me. Then something made me pick up one of Leto's first books and WOW was I impressed. She is a strong writer, full of quirky wit, sizzling hot when it comes to her sexy scenes, but she never fails to understand romance is the foundation. Her characters are vivid, so vivid the leap off the pages, full flesh and blood. But I think she reaches perfection with JUST WATCH ME.Leto is in love with what she writes, you can feel her devotion to the genre in every book, but she loves to push the envelop. In a market where female leads often run from their sexuality, Leto embraces it giving you 'good girls do' with panache. Jillian Hennessey is a good girl. She saved herself for marriage, only to have the louse not value her gift. Since, then she has ruthlessly suppressed her wants and desires, ignored the long lonely nights, giving all to her job as a Private Investigator, with the desire to one-day assuming control of The Hennessey Group, her uncle's firm. The middle child of five, she learnt long ago she had to hustle to stand out in a group, so when her brother became a cop, she moved into private investigations, following her uncle around since she was 11. Her whole life was geared to becoming good enough to take over the reins of the Hennessey Group, and as her Uncle tended to slide in his elder years, she spent time covering for his small mistakes. But suddenly, her brother, Patrick, had retired from the police force and joined the Hennessey group with intention of assuming control. Her last chance to prove she deserved what she has worked for her whole life comes with the stakeout Stanley Davison. Davison sued the Tampa Police Department for millions of dollars when he received injuries during a police change. Nearly everyone involved believed he was faking his injuries but no one could prove it. Jillian lands the assignment to stakeout Davison's home with all sorts of high tech snooping gear. As she is moving in next door, she spies her drop-dead gorgeous neighbour, a distraction she can live without. However, after her uncle makes one of his little mistakes, she can hardly ignore the man. Instead of wiring Davison house with hidden camera's, he had his tech people wire Cade Lawrence's house. Giving into more than a little curiosity, she watched Cade move about his house. Only, Cade has been watching the sexy redhead next door. So when a basket of lemons and a box of sugar cubes are left on his door by mistake (so he thinks), he is more than delighted to play delivery boy. In quick time, they are shooting sparks off each other. Jillian is tempted into an affair with him, but soon begins to suspect her sexy neighbour is more than he pretends after observing him observing Stanley. In a series of sexy spy vs. spy, Leto leads you on a merry chase of fantasies, giving into secret desires and finding what is most important in life. This is her best book to date, her most daring, her most delightful!
Rating: Summary: sexy scintillating story Review: Jillian Hennessy believes that when she successfully completes her current surveillance assignment, she will earn the respect needed to become the CEO of the Hennessey Group. However, instead of wiring the house of a sneak who defrauded the taxpayer out of two million dollars, her private firm's technocrats set up the wrong house. The observation is that of a hunk not a punk and to her chagrin Jillian dreams of midnight fantasies with a man she has never met. Due to a shooting incident, police detective Cade Lawrence is assigned a stakeout. He watches the rat that conned a jury into awarding him with two million dollars on a phony claim against the police department. However, Cade has trouble concentrating on his present task as he rather dreams of sharing a lifetime in bed with the private sleuth who has been observing him. JUST WATCH ME starts on the weird premise of professional surveillance turning into personal voyeurism. The story line is fun though why Jillian believes she will become the CEO based on a relatively minor assignment is hard to comprehend. The lead couple is an interesting pair as both struggles with a relationship between individuals used to hiding the truth. Julie Elizabeth Leto blazingly takes readers on a ride that with a lesser talent would be a disgusting taboo, but she capably provides a sexy scintillating story. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Her Best Yet! Review: Jillian Hennessy has dreamed of succeeding her uncle as CEO in the Hennessey Group, a private investigative firm, since she was twelve. This stakeout is Jillian's opportunity to prove her skills, but instead of watching the bespectacled weasel that won two million dollars of the taxpayers' money in fraudulent claim, Jillian's eyes are increasingly drawn to the hunky guy across the street. Then she realizes that her team wired the wrong house. Instead of watching the weasel, she has an up close and personal view of her neighbor exercising, eating donuts, and showering. The view kicks her lurid fantasies into overtime! Benched during a routine investigation following a shooting, detective Cade Lawrence accepts the stakeout in lieu of a boring desk job. His department took a lot of heat when the jury awarded the scoundrel Stanley Davidson money, and now more scam artists are lining up hoping to collect, too. Years of working undercover have virtually robbed Cade of his identity, making him feel like a chameleon. But his increasing attraction to Jillian has unexpected results. In getting to know her, he rediscovers himself. Unfortunately, the few relationships Cade has indulged have been doomed since they were always based on a false identity, and even though he inadvertently revealed his true name, he fears the falsehoods will have the same effect on Jillian. Yet he just cannot take his eyes off her, in the pool, at dinner, or in his bed. JUST WATCH ME... reveals Julie Elizabeth Leto daring style at its' best. Voyeurism and self-discovery work together to create a novel as sensual as it is memorable. Who among us as not dreamed of that forbidden glimpse behind closed doors, or longed to feel the freedom to display oneself in an erotic interlude of passion and desire? Leto capitalizes on those forbidden fantasies and then adds complexities of work and goals that allow these characters to sizzle. Heated and bold, JUST WATCH ME... will keep your eyes glued to the page. Very highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: You'll need a cold shower Review: Readers had better watch out for Julie Elizabeth Leto as she delivers her sexy passionate Blaze romance Just Watch Me. Her latest blazer tells of private investigator Jillian Hennessy embarking on an important case that may catapult her to the CEO of Hennessy detective firm operated by her uncle. Hot on the trails of a fraud called Stanley who successfully sued the Tampas Police Dept for inflicted injuries, she uses her surveillance monitors to spy on him. When her uncle states the wrong address, she ends up being an unwitting voyeur drawn to the gorgeous Cade Lawrence - who has a hidden agenda of his own. He is also an undercover cop employed to bust Stanley and find evidence to expose Stanley as a cheat... While the focus may be on the voyeurism and sensuality, Julie Elizabeth Leto proves even more laudable for the emotional romance that bridges two vulnerable souls who connects with love and passion. It is an essentially love story and Ms. Leto sensitively treads voyeurism to explore on the sexually-charged romance. Between careers, each has to make sacrifices and while Jillian believes the affair to be temporary, she has no idea that Cade had already lost his heart. Ms. Leto's romance novella is consistently readable and her sexy uplifitng tale is a winner.
Rating: Summary: Who marries in 2 weeks?? Review: This book never delved into the chracters, and the plot was thin. It had the basis to be a good book, but was not developed very well. Steamy ...scenes however, if that's what you like.
