Rating: Summary: I know in TN Review: Anna has loved Ric since she was thirteen years old. He has lead a harsh life being dump by his mother and abused by his grand-mother. When he meets Anna he has no room for love but she does what his family members cannnot, that is melt down his heart of ice. A ice storm forces them to spend some well needed time together. She find out that he is attacted to her. So she figures that asking him to marry her and help have a baby the old-fashioned way wont hurt their friendship. He feels he owes her this much since she once saved his life. What he does not figure is that she can teach him to love and cherish a family of his own. This is a true romance! The love seen was beyond erotic. I have never read such a visual scene in my life time. I recommend this book to all first-time romance readers. I promise you they will be back for more. Ms. Fredd I understand that you may not be a sequel writer but you left so many well defined characters to explore in this book open. I would love to know about Anna's friends all three. I would love to read about Ric and Anna's brothers falling in love along with and update, or sequel the couple themselves. I truelly thank you for this book I enjoyed it throughly.
Rating: Summary: That's what friends are for... Review: Anna May Robinson has been in love with Garrick Justice since they were children growing up in Atlanta. "Ric" and Anna May are both successful professionals and best friends. Anna May's biological clock is ticking and she is alarmed to learn that a medical condition may jeopardize her wish to have a child. Doctors have told her it's now or never. What's a girl to do? When an Atlanta icestorm forces Ric and Anna May to spend a weekend together, she asks Ric if he will marry her and father he child -- "the old-fashioned way." Afterall, what are friends for? Ric, the product of a terminally dysfunctional family, reluctantly agrees to the marriage -- for one year. If Anna May thought the race against her biological clock was tough, she really wasn't ready to try to beat the clock to have a baby, get Ric to love her and accept the idea that "family" is not such a bad thing. Carla Fredd has given her readers another story set in metropolitan Atlanta. As in her other novels, one person in the relationship has had a seemingly insurmountable hurt and is afraid to love. She presents her story with humor and realism.

Rating: Summary: Best Friends become Family Review: Man, this story is soooo good. This is one of the BEST books I've read. Ms. Fredd does an excellent job of allowing the reader to become thoroughly involved in Ric & Anna May's relationship. She shares with the reader how BOTH of them feel about each other and family. Ric is a loner afraid to love and shuns his "family". Anna May is his best friend. A strong woman with a loving family who loves her best friend, Ric and wants to have his child. Can she melt the "Ice Man"? I can't believe this book was published in 1996. Definitely a keeper.

Rating: Summary: Friend and Lover for Life Review: this book was too good. A man like Ric tall, dark, and too insecure about love to see love in the eyes of his best friend Anna May. Anna May waited for Ric and although he was scared to face love, Anna May made the love she felt too good for him to keep fighting. Sweet book of how true friend can be all that and more.
Rating: Summary: I laughed and I cried Review: This book was well written, through and through. The characters were believable and loveable. The thing I liked most was that it was different from most romance novels I have read where the relationships are based solely on physical attraction. Anna May and Ric's foundation was friendship. My favorite part was the morning after the storm. What a way to wake up!
Rating: Summary: FRIENDS AND LOVERS Review: THIS IS DEFINITELY A KEEPER TO READ OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THIS BOOK DEMONSTRATES THAT IT IS DEFINITELY EASIER TO START OFF AS FRIENDS. IT SHOWS THAT TRUE FRIENDS WOULD DEFINITELY GO THAT EXTRA MILE WHEN RIC IS ASKED BY HIS BEST FRIEND OF 14 YEARS TO GET MARRIED AND IMPREGNATE HER SINCE THIS MAY BE HER ONLY CHANCE TO HAVE CHILDREN. WE SHOULD ALL HAVE FRIENDS THAT WOULD GO TO THE MAT FOR US IN THIS MANNER. AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT, THEY HAVE A HARD EXPRESSING THEMSELVES BECAUSE OF PAST HISTORY WITH RIC'S ABUSIVE GRANDMOTHER, AND ABSENTEE PARENTS. THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THOSE THAT MAKES YOU SAD THAT IT HAD TO END.
