Rating: Summary: Did Not Like Review: I did not understand these people at all. Tanner was OK, in fact he seemed really devoted. The question is..WHY? Gwyneth was a pain. She had SO much baggage from the past; an assault, a rough father who treated her like a boy, no mother, a shy and insecure personality...etc...but I still couldn't figure out why she acted in the ways she did. As a reader, I like to be able to connect to and follow the characters, and I couldn't with this book. (and didn't really want too) THEN there was that "Womens Council" stuff and their "Rules for Bride Courting". Ridiculous! Sounds like "Stepford Men" to me. This "Freedom Valley" bunch is definitely NOT for me. KCS
Rating: Summary: New Freedom Valley Series Review: LAST DANCE is the first of the new Freedom Valley series by Cait London. Freedom Valley, Montana is governed by a women's council and guided by the "Rules for Bride Courting". Tanner and Gwyneth had been childhood sweethearts but on their wedding night Gwyneth ran out without explanation. Now 12 years later, Tanner has returned to Freedom to settle his mother's estate and find out why Gwyneth walked out on him. Gwyneth is running the family farm on her own and still using her ex-husband's name. The LAST DANCE is a story of young love that survives 12 years of separation and now a patience to develop that love. Tanner and Gwyneth are strong characters that want the same thing but struggle to find a solution. Cait London is known for her great series writings and I am sure that The Freedom Valley series will be as great as the Blaylock and Tallchief series. I also recommend Cait's novels THREE KISSES and SLEEPLESS IN MONTANA that continue the London appeal of strong women and sexy men.
