Along the road, she meets a charming fellow named Sir Roland Keyes, a self-confessed fortune hunter. Despite Lacey's present cloak of poverty, he finds himself quite taken with her--and she with him. But he leaves n pursuit of another with fortune. Determined to get her way, Lacey works to convince him to fall in love with her charms without him learning about her secret inheritance.
