Summary: Storyline info
Review: Detective Judah Finnegan didn't believe in happy endings - too many years fighting crime had left him cynical. But when the discovery of an abandoned baby brought him back into the arms of his lost love, he realized he would have to find a new way of looking at the world or risk losing the woman of his dreams.

Dr. Sophie Brennan had always been able to see through Judah's bitterness into the loner's heart, but she could never convince him that he was worthy of love. As they worked to save the baby, they tried to stay out of each other's arms, but their old passion was too powerful to resist. Could their love survive a second chance?

Summary: Finally...
Review: I'd be waiting a long time for the next Lindsay Longford book--several of her earlier books were on my permanent keeper shelf. This one was well worth the wait--the kind of book where you totally immerse and don't want to look up, a spell that hooks you in and won't let go. Compelling writing and a voice that's fresh and deep and wonderful. What a great read!

Summary: Finally...
Review: Up front, let me say that Lindsay Longford is a friend of mind, so I'm predisposed to like her books. BUT...even if she were the Evil Queen, I'd have to say that this book delivers. It's an intensely emotional read and, yes, very sensual, sexual, and erotic as all get out. In a lot of ways, this book reads more like a single title than a series romance. There's a rich exploration of theme that we don't usually find in series, and the hero and heroine are deeply developed. Stand warned...if you don't like tough guy wounded heroes, this won't be your cup of tea because the hero has wounds a mile deep. Also, if you're only in the mood for a frothy read, Dead Calm isn't it,so this book may be a bit of a lightning rod with some readers. But if you love books with mysterious depths, deep threads of emotion, and dark sensuality, I know you'll enjoy Dead Calm as much as I did. Way to go, L.L.!
