Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Turning point in the lives of two sisters
Review: Maria and Rachel, the two eldest Hammond daughters take opposite attitudes regarding the family's hardships. One is embarrassed and deeply resentful, while the other is Pollyanna grown up. Their almost exaggerated responses play out in mostly predictable fashion in romance and life decisions. The men they meet are well-developed characters - there is no stinting in this moving story.
