Although she does tell the reader that she has manipulated the actual time period, the story is a fictional account of a young child who was one of the few surviors of the horrible Glen Coe Massacre and her life with the man whose family is her enemy. The hero and heroine are of warring clans but their mutual attraction is what draws them together but not before our heroine has some heartaches along the way and the hero must deal with his family's wicked ways.
