Rating: Summary: A Good Book of Short Romances! Review: I found this book in a used book store and I'm glad I bought it! For Mother, With Love is a collection of romance stories all written by different writers and it is a good book. The Virtues of Patience is written by Carol Quinto and is my favorite romance story in this book. Gregory Courtenay is the Duke of Norwick. He is looking to find a bride and asks his mother to find a proper bride for him. He is cynical about love and is not looking for a love match but basically just wants a wife to set up his nurseries and thinks that any woman should want to marry him for wealth and a position of rank but his mother is displeased with the cold cynical way he wants to go about finding a bride so her choice is the beautiful, intelligent and strong-willed Patience Cheswick who she feels can convince her cynical reserved son the virtues of a love match. My second favorite story is The Notorious Mrs. Carlton and it is written by Martha Kirkland. Ann Carlton sets out to find the mother she thinks abandoned her and her father when she was a little child and when she finds out where her mother may be living she sets out to find her and confront her so she arrives at the home of Michael Herndon, the fifth Baron Herndon pretending to be someone else and after spending a lot of time with Michael they fall in love but when she meets his stepmother Lenore and she knows that she has found her mother but her bitterness and resentment makes her finally reveal that she knows that Lenore is the mother she feels abandoned her but Michael sets out to let Ann know that her father wasn't honest with her and that things aren't always what they seem and he sets out to give Ann the chance of love. The story the Makeshift Mama is written by Dorothea Donley. Audrey Malton is hoping find a husband for her sister Susan so she pretends to be her widowed mother but Audrey winds up falling for Charles Aintree who she mistakenly thinks is in love with Susan. I recommend this book but especially for The virtues of Patience and The Notorious Mrs. Carlton.
