Summary: Not so hot after all
Review: Based on the reviews this book received, I was very excited when I received my copy, only to be extremely let down when I began to read it. Although the story concept is good, the dialogue and over-all writing style, left much to be desired. I would have to guess that this was a "first-time attempt" from this author. Perhaps with time and lots of practice, the Queen of Romance will earn her title.

Summary: Not Your Every Day Romance
Review: By Carolyn Howard-Johnson
Author of "This Is The Place" and "Harkening

This is one that no matter how tender that T-bone was, you'd be more interested in the sizzle! The author of a new novel called Desert Heat, Kristie Leigh Maguire, tells a story about a steel magnolia who has come out west to live and gives both the men and women in her life a run for their money.
Here is a protagonist who lives sexy encounters and dreams sexy encounters yet we still feel she is a three-dimensional character. She has a husband she loves, a new job and, to her chagrin, a new love-interest. How does a happily married, career-minded woman handle a situation like that?
A reader of this new first novel has a choice. She can follow the story to find out or she can simply turn the pages to the love scenes that are--handily--all in italics and inhale them or lap them up.
If it's cold outside this book is a perfect substitute for a nice, warm hearth.

Summary: The Numero Uno Diva in Romantica has done it again!
Review: Have you ever fantasized about being in love and loved by more than one person? If so, then DESERT HEAT is the book for you. Marcie Treyhorne finds herself in this situation. She is deeply in love with her husband and her boss. Both are her loving partners-and I do mean LOVING. The escapades set the pages on fire and there is no way to put the fire out. This is a must read book for those who have this kind of relationship and for those who fantasize about it. You will find yourself an integral part of this love nest, and will definitely feel the heat of passion building within yourself.

Add romance to erotica and The Numero Uno Diva in Romantica has done it again! I love the goose bumps of passion I receive while reading Ms. Maguire's work, and can hardly wait for her next novel.

Summary: Not so hot after all
Review: I am not a fan of the new "erotica," but Kristie Leigh Maguir goes far beyond the scope of just [physical activity] with a fine-tuned storyline and a dilemma which has faced many of us "normal" folks. It was fascinating to watch Marcie unravel the feelings she felt--for two men at the same time. If only we could all handle it as well.
The story was as steamy as the desert heat and as intense as if you reached up and touched the sun. It is one of those books that once you start it, you had better be prepared for a rocky ride, as you won't want to put it down until you turn the last page.
I can hardly wait for the next installment in the Marcie books.

This is one HOT story that is difficult to put down! Desert Heat is the perfect book to pack in your bag for that romantic weekend with your significant other. Summary: The heat in the desert melts the thermometer!
Review: Renamed the "Diva of Romance" by her fans Kristie Leigh Maguire writes with a style and flair often copied but rarely duplicated.
Her ability to capture the pure animal heat in her characters takes the reader to a realm of surreal pleasure rarely found in today's writing.
If the story inside does not drive the red blooded male to frenzy the titillating cover photo certainly will. Don't miss this one!

Summary: It's not just steak that sizzles!
Review: Romantica is a new genre that has emerged, a cross between Romance and Erotica, romantic tales where the story doesn't end with a closed bedroom door. Not for everyone then, but for those who like their romance a bit spicer, you can't go far wrong with this tale from the queen of the genre, Kristie Liegh Maguire.

Steve and Marcie have been happily married for years and feel that nothing can come between them. Until that is, Marcie falls for Jim, her new boss. How can she fall for another man when she is so happy with Steve? Can she really love two men at once?

The plot is pacy and the descriptions of the places are so well done that you can imagine you are there, whether it's in a deserted desert canyon or the bright lights of Las Vegas.

The sexual tension simmers between Marcie and Jim throughout, and it is surprising how they finally get together.

The passages are erotic and literary, with emotions clearly evident.

If you want something a bit different and spicy than your average romance book, give Desert Heat a try.

Summary: Worst I've ever seen!
Review: This is the last time I buy a book based on reader reviews. I don't know who these authors are that reviewed this book and each gave it five stars, but if their review of this poor excuse for a book is any indication as to their own writing ability...stay clear! This book is so poorly written that I can't believe it is even on the market. Who is this self-titled Queen of Romance? There was nothing romantic about this book whatsoever. It was a flagrant display of one dirty word after another and reminded me of something a junior high school girl with raging hormones might write. Yes, it is that bad! Some people should not call themsevles authors and this is a fine example. The only reason I gave this book 1 star is because negative numbers were not an option. I normally don't give reviews of books that I've read, good or otherwise. But this truly is the worst book I have ever read. If Kristie Leigh Maguire is serious about being an author, then she really needs to take some writing classes, lots of them. She obviously has the marketing under control in that her reviews were all by other authors and regardless of how misleading they are, they suckered me into a purchase! BIG...BIG MISTAKE!
