This book is not just a story. The truths expressed through the medium of the characters apply to all, reaching out to us from the pages and reminding us of things - beautiful things - that are too easily forgotten. It's excellence lies in its closeness to human reality: the characters are real people; their pain is our pain, their past our past, their future our future. It is a work that I personally admire and highly recomend.

The cliffhanger ending is perfect - it leaves you with hope for renewal, but without a facile Hollywood "resolution" to the characters' difficulties.
Great book for people who are starting to think about real love.
