Summary: Incredible. One of the best books in this category!
Review: I had bought this online at Dreams-Unlimited a few days before Thanksgiving, begging them to send it to me ASAP. It was great. The characters were well developed, the story extraordinarily well written, and the plot was so intriguing and original.

The heroine has been living with a very intelligent animal species - very close to humans, except that have white fur and do not speak vocally but with sign language, the dialect varying with each sub-species. After humans set up settlements on the White Fur people's planet, her surrogate mother (she is human), decides to let her try living with her own species.

There, she meets a human male, of course gorgeous, who patiently spends his vacation teaching her how to speak, about human culture, and following in love with her. As a space-faring officer, he takes her to Earth with him where she is stunned by the enclosed, polluted spaces. Uncomfortable in such a densely packed space, their relationship is tested.

It is a truly wonderful book and I definitely encourage you to read it. It is much more than just a romance or a futuristic fantasy.
