Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: If Audubon made a field guide to cannabis, this is what it would be like. A very informative book about different gene-lines of cannabis. This book includes a lot of historical facts about the countries where breeders can legally grow cannabis. A lot of nice pictures of the plant also make this book the best of its kind. A+ rating!
Rating: Summary: Really better than anything out there... Review: P>Anyways, at first I THOUGHT it was like the seed company descriptions, but the truth is there is ALOT of information in this book...the photos are actually really good quality...and there's a whole bunch of them...the information on each strain is amazing: flower time, yield, taste/smell, type of high (really cool part), type of growing conditions, and in most cases what the PARENTS are....All in all a REALLY informative, fun book. Anyone I have shown it to hasn't been able to put it down until they are done....:)
Rating: Summary: You will want to smoke the pages . . . Review: The only thing that would make this book tastier would be a scratch and sniff edition. I LOVED the photos and with the essays I learned a lot about this amazing plant along the way. Everyone that has taken a peek at my copy doesn't want to put it down. I would recommend it to anyone who has a curiosity about pot. Just make sure you have a smokable supply nearby--this book will make your mind water.
Rating: Summary: Gorgeous. A great reference Review: The pics alone would be worth picking this up. But add to that the detailed reviews and essays, and this is like a 'field guide' to pot. Great, specific differences between strains. I think if you're a potential grower or just a hobbyist, you'd HAVE to have this. And hey, if nothing else they use the phrase 'couch lock', which still kills me.
Rating: Summary: Marijuana Porn Review: This book is fabulous. These plants are so wonderful to look at; they make my mouth water and bring tears to my third eye. If the stuff is legalized one day, this book will be our window into becoming master cani-culturists.
Rating: Summary: I love this book! Review: This is a feel good book. It has excellent information and great photos. Whether you want to learn about the different varieties for their "high" or for how they grow, this book has 100 great examples to drool over. Ed Rosenthal did a great job on this book.
Rating: Summary: Undank Review: This is a very mixed bag: a few kind nuggs (e.g., handy icons outlining each strain's characteristics, dj short's palate map) thrown in with much no-love schwag (e.g., bland strain descriptions that after awhile all sound the same, grainy bud photos often lifted straight out of seed catalogs, embarrassing shots of Cannabis Cup proceedings). The book design is amateurish and tacky. I'm sure I will use it as a reference, but not with the same enjoyment I derive from Jason King's Cannabible, which may not contain as much information but is beautiful to look at and so tastefully done.
Rating: Summary: Perfect Pothead Coffeetable Book Review: This is my new favorite book. Not only is it educational, but it is also practical! It helps me identify what i'm smoking and because of what i learned in it, i can keep an eye out for varieties that I want to try. Whether you're a longtime smoker, or just an aspiring pothead, you need this book.
Rating: Summary: This is 1up for Ed! Review: We liked the book a lot. It almost already seems like a classic. So much more information is being produced in Cultivation books, websites, DVD's etc.
The Seed was definately First...
Rating: Summary: Beautiful reference Review: Well laid out, good writing and a nice reference. Not a book on growing, but it doesn't pretend to be. I've had the book for a few weeks and just keep picking it up! Think of it as more of a field guide than grow book.
