Rating: Summary: A great gift for any Woman! Review: It seems that all of us (women) at one time or another had a fascination with the horse. This book is beautiful, and wonderful on my coffee table. The words are beautiful and heartwarming, moving and intriguing. A must have for the horse owner, or for any woman who once fell in love with the horse!
Rating: Summary: A book I could connect with Review: Of Women and Horses, offers man different perspectives about the undeniable bond between women and horses. Just flipping through it, you will be drawn in by this books beautiful artwork and photography. The essays themselves are insightful and enjoyable to read. Gawani's reflections on the essays are informative, and patched together with tid bits of unique insights, ideas and experiences. A really great coffee table book that is fun to read, I loved it and continue to enjoy it!!!

Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book With Amazing Pictures and Essays Review: This book, in my opinion, was incredible. It displays the beauty of horses and their relationships with women. I highly recommend this book for all horse enthusiasts and non-horse enthusiasts. The photographs are amazing and overall they are beautiful. Read this wonderful piece of literature, I don't think you will regret it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Coffee Table Book Review: This is a very appealing coffee table book. The stories are very good but I wish these kind of books would acknowledge the ties men have with their pets as well. Women are not more "attuned" to nature as so many pc authors would lead us to think.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book With Amazing Pictures and Essays Review: This is a very interesting book. "Of Women and Horses", edited by GaWaNi Pony Boy (how's that for irony?) is basically the perfect coffee table book. To be honest, I originally bought it to rile up my play-it-safe spouse who's always refused to ride bareback and (to be a little more honest) looks a lot like a horse herself. In any event, I found the book surprisingly charming. It features twenty-two articles by women about their relationships with horses (all purely plutonic) and includes some thought-provoking insight by the ironic editor following each article. I could really relate to a lot of the articles (even though I'm a man and don't particularly like horses) as a lot of the feelings I have for my gimpy bulldog ("Colonel") were portrayed in these women's writings. I still don't understand my wife's affection for her ridiculous tabby "Bobo", but I feel enriched for reading this book. As a bonus, this book is filled with gorgeous watercolors and photographs of women with their horses (no funny business). All in all, a great purchase. I can't help thinking I now have a book with pictures of 22 women playing around with my horsy wife. What a treat!

Rating: Summary: Of Women and Horses Review: This is an amazing book. I haven't even read the whole thing yet, but Of Women and Horses is worth it just for the gorgeous pictures. Full color, and often full page photos of women and horses, and they are just amazing. I have never seen any horse book like this, and I certainly read a lot of them in my younger days.
Of Women and Horses is a book of essays by women who love horses with commentary by GaWaNi Pony Boy. Both describe or wonder about the innate bond between women and horses. However beautiful the essays are (and they are beautiful), the photos are certainly the most remarkable thing about this book. Gabrielle Boiselle deserves the credit for the spirit of this book, for without the pictures the words would be nothing.
If you have ever wondered about that bond between a woman and a horse, this book is for you. Even if you never read it, the pictures speak for themselves--I could spend hours simply marveling at the photos.
