Summary: A must have
Review: Absolutely must have this book if you're planning to dive. The pictures are great of course, but the descriptions are even better - how the fish will react, how to approach, etc.

Summary: The Perfect Dive Buddy
Review: After we came back from our honeymoon, I wanted to buy my husband a book to help identify the various fish we encountered on our trip, and this book turned out to be perfect. First of all, the fish are broken down into various classifications, and each category is clearly labelled. There are wonderfully clear, glossy pictures of each individual fish combined with a detailed description which includes information such as size, colors, appearance of immature, habitat, and reaction to divers. An ideal book for serious research or just for fun.

Review: As a SCUBA INSTRUCTOR this book is the best I've seen for fish identification. It gives many pointers on how to distinguish between fish. If your looking for a book to take on a trip make no mistake this is your best choice.

Summary: Fish ID Essential
Review: Great book for anyone interested in knowing what you're looking at while diving. Easy to understand and has information on different stages (male/female/juvenile)in a fish life. Beautiful pictures. Great variety of fish. The authors have also listed the fish reaction to divers, so it makes life a little easier if you like photography. Also listed is how rare or common the animal is, what geographical area it is found in and its habitat. I go back to this book everytime I dive. I love it and would easily reccomend it to anyone who is interested in learning more on fish.

Summary: The Perfect Dive Buddy
Review: I bought this book seven years ago, when I began scuba diving, and it has accompanied me on every dive trip. I remain impressed by how comprehensive and user-friendly it is. It may be the best equipment investment I've ever made!

Summary: Excellent preparation
Review: I bought this book, along with one of the companions in the series (Reef Creatures) to help prepare me for a cruse and scuba trip to Cayman. I am pleased with the book but I was under the impression it was spiral bound: the one I received has a conventional binding, which is less convenient. The colour plates are excellent and in many cases there are specific notes as to colour variations in various species which is extremely helpful. The descriptions of juvenile fish is also a major contribution as changes in colouring through the life-cycle of a number of species can be quite remarkable. The basic identification sections at the beginning of chapter speed you through finding the specific species your are looking for. By and large a beautiful and helpful addition for any diving enthusiast .

Summary: So Much Fun
Review: I recently aquired my scuba certifications in Belize, but needless to say, did not know much about the fish I was encountering during my first several dives. I bought a the Reef Fish Identification CD at the recommendation of my dive shops owner. This CD is great! I have completely enjoyed how interactive it is. I have been using the flash cards to help me and now I am starting to feel confident that I will be able to identify many more fish on my next dive. I will be taking this everywhere with me. I also recently purchased the Reef Fish Identification Tropical Pacific in book form and will be taking that with me to Hawaii for my next dive vacation. Buy it, it's worth it.
