Summary: Great fun writing Rare Treasure
Review: Writing RARE TREASURE was great fun and something of an adventure. I travelled from my home near New York City to the British Museum of Natural History (London UK) and researched their archives for information on Mary Anning. The museum also displays some of her fossil discoveries and I saw the ichthyosauer skull Mary's brother found. I was surprised by its modest size; My ten year old daughter could easily carry it. I next traveled to Lyme Regis, Dorest --Mary Anning's home and the site of her famous fossil discoveries. I explored the shoreline and tried to imagine what Mary's life must have been like. I continued my research at the Dorset Library and worked hard to make the story accurate. I think I succeeded and take great pride in the endorsement of RARE TREASURE by Prof. Hugh Torrens, the leading expert on Mary Anning.
