Summary: Watson is a criminal
Review: I worked and sailed with Captain Watson for more than three years. You may not like the what he does or how he writes, but that doesn't matter one bit to him! His only concern is for those animals and ecosystems that he is fighting so hard to protect. He is an gifted leader and speaker, one of the world's most successful activists (if you count results rather than media attention), and has been an inspiration to and mentor of many others that fight for environmental justice.

Read this book, try to soak up some of his message and his passion - then do something with it.

Summary: We need many more like him.

Summary: READ THIS BOOK!
Review: One of the best books I have ever read! Without any question. Watson will make you laugh, cry, and most of all, get up and take action. He is one of the few humans I admire. For the most part I am so disgusted with my species I am ashamed to belong to the human race. Capt'n Watson and his crew are amoung the few souls I have any respect for. He is a true Mahatma. READ THIS BOOK!
I was taught humans are neither demons nor angels but occupy the spectrum in between. Well far too many of us gravitate towards one end of the spectrum don't we? And that's why our homeworld has become the cesspool that it is. If we make it out of this mess, it will be because of people like Watson.

Summary: Eco-terrorists of the world unite!!!!!
Review: Paul Watson is one of the few hominids on this planet who actually knows what he's doing with his life. Over the last two hundred years humanity's impact upon Gaia has become exponential. Only people with his courage, compassion and vision offer us any hope. "Whether 'tis better in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them" -Shakespeare

Summary: Captain Paul Watson is my voice where I have none
Review: People are very quick to make judgement of others. Captain Watson should be treated with utmost respect. As in any great story the facts are embellished to make things interesting. And this story is a GREAT STORY. Any person who has a concern for our oceans and marine life should read this book. It is an eye opening experience. Captain Watson stands to be heard, and where I have no voice he will be mine and I will be heard. Captain Watson is truly an ocean warrior.

Summary: Let the World Know About Paul Watson and Sea Shepherd!
Review: The previous reviewer on this page can't be serious. I can't imagine picking up this book with the idea of being entertained with Great Literature. It doesn't pretend to be; Paul Watson doesn't worry about being any kind of Author. But the book reads well enough, and anyways it is the content and moral force behind the words and behind the actions that matter to me. Paul has been my hero for twenty-one years, ever since he was kicked out of Greenpeace for trying to stop a thug from whacking a baby seal on the head. The purpose of this book is too give light to his efforts in this world; if a few facts are wrong - big f***ing deal! So get a copy editor! Three cheers for Paul Watson - and may the rest of us wake up in time to follow in his footsteps!

Summary: The man has come to be a legend in his own mind.
Review: There is no arguing tha Watson has filled a very necessary nich, unfortuanaley being an author does not come with the territory. One can't argue his exploits, but one can find fault with the fact that his research is erronious at best; Moby Dick did not ram the ESSEX and she did not lose her whole crew. According to her Captain's logs, all of the crew got off the ESSEX before she sank. Melville used this incident, as well as several others as inspiration for part of his book Moby Dick. PETER DeSavary, not ALEX as he writes, was the challanger for the America's Cup from England and that was in 1990, not June of 1989. Watson's dialogue is for the most part, trite and fabricated. The author uses even the most casual conversation from which to his mount his soap box. The world needs more men like Watson, but they, as all of us, need to know when to leave the fabrications and story telling out of their narratives and simply concentrate more on the facts. (Did we really need to know that he and his girl frind mated like the very whales they were trying to protect?)

Summary: amazing!
Review: This book will make you laugh and cry all at once. Paul is
a great writer and has packed more adventure into his life that
all the Star Trek episodes put together. Time after time as you read you are sure he is done for this time, will be dead or
in jail, but time after time he miraculously prevails in
his Pirate Vikinq quest to save the whales.
