Rating: Summary: Buy for yourself or your library Review: This informative book is perfect for today's student. It is small, concise, and attractively packaged. The black and white illustrations and the archival photos add to the authenticity of the research. The influenza epidemic of 1918, the "purple death", still remains a mystery. In 1918 scientists could not even see viruses. In spite of today's sophisticated equipment and specialized research, we still do not know why a half million people died within months. We do know WWI contributed to spreading the internationally. By continuing to search for answers, scientists hope to avoid more devastating pandemics.
Rating: Summary: I hope it never ends Review: This is one of the books I took out of the library yesterday, and I am so glad I did! This book its one of the best medical books geared for children I have ever read! I wish for tw othings, one, it will never end, and two, that there were more books in this series of unknown viruses. Thanks fo r a great read!
